“I’m a health researcher myself and I must say this book is based only on a foundation of years and years of thorough research and genuine concern. Although my focus isn’t on heart disease itself, I have a keen interest in cardiovascular diseases and I should say this book is very educational. It contains facts that are supported with ample evidence and in-depth discussion. I’ve always known about this conspiracy from my own research, but I failed to understand the origin of the flaw of this theory. From this book I realized how unlikely it is that cholesterol levels should be the only measure of developing risks of heart disease. There was something else – another factor of this fatal disease. This book discussed those other factors very well. It explained the real enemy in a style of vocabulary that anyone can understand. Of course, there were also clinical terms, (it really can’t be helped because this is a medical guidebook) but the author expounded the terms very well. I have a feeling that while the author was writing this book, he had in mind the people who remain mislead simply because they can’t understand the complicated medical jargon. What I highly appreciate in this book is that it isn’t just a guidebook; it’s a textbook on cholesterol and heart disease, it’s a guidebook for the confused consumers, and it’s an action plan for heart disease patients at the same time. “I never really thought I’d get so much from this book. I mean, I’m basically a heart disease patient for more than a year now. I’ve sought help like from anywhere in any way I can but no other book has ever helped me this much. A year ago, I was diagnosed with CHD. “What really appalled me upon reading this book isn’t the revelation, it brings but the fact that I have been so blind! So blind! I lost my mother 2 years ago because of an unexplained heart attack. I never really understood what happened to her until last month when I got this book. When my mother died, we were all lost. She always had problems with her heart as she sometimes experienced breathlessness before, but she was on statins and she was taking her medication pretty seriously so we really had no idea how she ended up with a heart attack. And then it dawned on me. What we failed to see was the real problem. My mother’s dietary cholesterol had nothing to do with her disease. Instead, what really did a serious damage is the absence of treatment for the real problem. I wish I had this book earlier and I could have saved her. I could have realized that inflammation and not cholesterol is the real enemy. I should have known that she should have taken anti-inflammatory instead of cholesterol-lowering statins. I am hugely disappointed with the information our pharmaceutical industry is now feeding us. That is why I really took the time to a leave lengthy review for this book. I really appreciate the author’s effort and motive of writing this book. Even the author may not have realized, but this is such a great help for people like me who’s all confused and lost with these mixed-up information. This book is worth every cent! You can’t buy any other book this affordable, this comprehensive, and this logical!”

I have always loved eating fast foods but about two months ago, I was diagnosed with Atherosclerosis, a condition wherein the arteries become thick and stiff because of high level of fatty deposits. My cardiologist advised me to stay away from fast foods especially that they contain fatty ingredients because I have a higher risk of heart attack and stroke. This scared the bejeezus out of me.
I was advised on certain programs but I didn’t realize reading books was one. My daughter’s idea. I was not the bookwork type but anyway, I tried reading. Well, the information about cholesterol are basic. I’ve known this information already and thought I don’t need them. Call me stubborn, yes. But the dietary plans gave me reasons to read more. There are hundreds of dietary plans out there but the ones in this book were quite enlightening and compelling. Never thought I’d be inspired to follow these plans. What was new to me are the ways on how I can control my cravings. It taught me about the lifestyle and dietary changes I should follow in order to live a healthier life away from alarming effects of heart diseases. I guess I’d have to carry this book as a bible from now on.
