Praise for The Wedding Trap

RomanceJunkiesReviews.com says:

THE WEDDING TRAP is a contemporary romance that has the bent of a romantic suspense with added spice thrown in. The book drew me in and I was immersed in the intrigue immediately…Kept me turning the pages.

This is the first book in the series and I look forward to reading the others and hopefully being reunited with some of the characters we met here. Bell is a new to me author and I will definitely be adding her to my TBR pile.

Passons à notre beau Charlie... alias Alex.

Really good and surprising, just one minor reproach, sex scenes are a bit more graphic than necessary for the plot to develop but that is the present trend. I would recommend it sans hésitation. Looking forward to read more by Adrienne Bell.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Hero throws heroine to the wolves - what a crock 30 septembre 2014
Par not joking - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle
I put this story down when the hot ex-SEAL now CIA hero agreed to use the heroine as bait with a group of ruthless killers, professional and very good killers at that. There was no certainty of her being safe as she'd just almost been killed half an hour before he agreed to hang her out to dry, and the bad guys had a hit out on her. The hero and his coworkers didn't even make an effort to keep her safe, just decided the bad guys needed to go down so she'd have to be used.

I'm sorry, but I want my hero to be protective of my heroine, to want her safety above his job and the needs of whoever else. This wasn't a heroine who was tough and bad ass, she was a normal woman (who couldn't get a date for six months and apparently most of her life, but now snagged the handsome CIA undercover op, ha ha) who didn't want to be killed. I certainly hope this isn't a typical storyline for this author and won't be picking up any of her other writings soon.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 If you can suspend disbelief, then this is cute & sweet...3.5 stars 18 juin 2014

I had a hard time rating this one. The plot is a little cheesy and some events definitely require the ability to suspend disbelief. Once that is done, the writing keeps you engaged and the plot moves along. There are a few grammar issues. Lots of fragmented sentences. Or should I say: There are a lot of fragmented sentences. Another round of editing should catch and correct. The author’s synopsis of the book’s plot is an accurate summary; I won’t repeat.

This is a romance with insta-love/insta-lust which happens over a wedding week-end. I am not a fan of these, but the author does a good job of building the attraction between the H/h and making it believable. Both of the lead characters are likable and the secondary characters show just the right amount of development and support. There were some cute and humorous moments in the book which were fun to read. And I read for fun so...yeah! There were also a couple of scenes which required the eye roll and a "that so couldn't happen”.

This is romantic suspense "lite". It's not complicated, but it's cute. This is a fairly fast read at only 171 pages. I feel the writer has talent and would read more of her work.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Fun Quick Read 3 mai 2014

When I saw this cover on Netgalley recently, I just had to take a look. Then once I saw that this was a case of pretending to be someone else and at a wedding no less, throw in the undercover business and I was sold. It sounded like there would be plenty of opportunities for laughs.

Beth Bradley is the Maid of Honor and Best Friend to the Bride at the wedding. Her ex-boyfriend is the brother and Best Man to the Groom. So after their break up, when he started serial dating again, she pulled out Charlie. Charlie was her go-to-excuse-guy since she created him in 7th grade. The only one who knows the truth is her best friend. When she catches Alex going through her ex-boyfriends car in the parking lot, she blackmails him into pretending to be Charlie just long enough to explain that he can't stay.

Alex Tanner is at the wedding, trying to figure out who is a double agent, using the wedding to sell national secrets to the Bride's Venezuelan crime family. At first he thought he was going to have to do some fast talking when he was caught breaking into the Best Man's car. Now he has the perfect excuse to be in the middle of the action and really keep an eye on things. As it turns out, its a good thing, because Beth ends up becoming a target when she sees something she shouldn't have.

This was a fun, quick read. I really enjoyed Beth and Alex's chemistry. The dialogue between all the characters was natural and fun. I would read the author again and gave it 4 stars on Goodreads.

I almost died pi**ing myself laughing in this book and I loved Alex, "you're the most unusual blackmailer I've ever dealt with." He let his grip on her hand linger." Beth that girl just speaks what is in her thoughts, "there's a real tub, Charlie. One of those claw-footed ones. I've always wanted to have a bath in one of those." She gave him a guilty smile, like she didn't like the thought that she could be bought with the promise of a nice hot soak. "Always." He leaned on the door jamb next to her. He had to admit, the thought of her in that tub stirred him as well." Nothing gets that girl down, "what? I was just nearly murdered in the street. On top of being scared and mentally exhausted, I'm starving. I think I deserve bacon." Alex the boy is sure feeling Beth, "dear God, he couldn't remember his co** ever being so hard in his life, and he didn't even have her pants off yet." He's so strong and protective you really couldn't help but love the boy, "Alex pulled his gun from his holster on the floor, and tucked it into the back waistband of his boxers. Only then did he go to the door. "We didn't order any room service," he said." The perks of Alex being with Beth 24/7 is the way she gets to wake up, "Alex's strong arm was draped over her chest. He was spooned up against her, his groin nestled against the curve of her bottom. She snuggled a little deeper in his embrace, and felt a stirring between his legs." I can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us I loved this book.

"Whatever was coming, it would be better if she faced it with her facilities intact." This was the most amusing error. Many sentences had missing or extra words, which was just annoying.

I was willing to suspend disbelief until about 3/4ths of the way through. Then the story became so outrageous I had to laugh.

Spoiler Alert!
I will probably always remember the bridesmaid who had to diet for weeks to get into her dress suddenly able to put a bulletproof vest on underneath and zip it up. If you've ever tried one on you would know how ridiculous that is. Then, when she got to the wedding the bride asked if she was actually wearing a bulletproof vest, and let the wedding proceed. You can figure out what happens next. Catching the bad guy was a TSTL cliche.

Overall the story was disappointing as romantic suspense but not half bad as an over the top comedy.
