An impowering tale of wit and determination about a very fearless little girl that takes charge of a number of animals that are attempting to take over her things. You will be delighted to find out how it all works out in the end. One I've read to all 9 of my own children

This was the longest book my two-year-old would sit through... again and again and again. She loved acting the part of the little heroine and readily recited "you throw him out!" with much enthusiasm. The drawings are entertaining and the end is lovely. I would whole-heartedly recommend this darling story.

I remember this book from when I was little. I now work in a library (in the kids section) and decided to do it for one of my 3-5 yr/old storytimes and they loved it! They usually don't care for books that are this lengthy but they kept up and loved this one. After the storytime everyone wanted to check it out but sadly we only had one copy. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good book to read to their child or class. It's great fun!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Mayer Knows Kids 5 septembre 2012
Par Gigirox - Publié sur Amazon.com
I have read literally thousands of children's books to my children, nieces and nephew, my clients, and now to my grandchildren. No other Children's Author and Illustrator even comes close to being able to speak to kids where they really are the way Mercer Mayer does. His Little Critter series as well as his other Books are spot on when it comes to how children think, what they worry about and often show fun ways to deal with everyday life. At the same time, Mayer reaches parents through his humerous illustrations, that depict the fun and frustration of being a parent. In this book, as in several others, Mayer uses a Little Girl as the heroine of this silly, fanciful tale of fun. As it can be difficult to find children's books in which a girl is as strong and determined and level-headed as this young lady, anyone who has a little girls on their gifting list should purchase What Do You With A Kangaroo for each and every one! Not to leave boys out of course. Loving a story that incidentelly has a female heroine provides not only entertainment, but early, very valuable exposure to a side of girls that some boys have never seen. Mayer's consistency in creating entertaining, fun and socially relevant children's literature has spanned more than 30 years. Hint: Liza Lou and the Yeller Belly Swamp, also by Mayer, is another of his book with a great female heroine that is loved by girls and boys alike.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Redundant but Cute 26 juin 2013
Par Jill - Publié sur Amazon.com
A short but redundant picture book, What Do You Do With a Kangaroo chronicles a little girl's battle against a parade of wild animals who try to boss her around and take all of her things. But this little madam stands her ground and kicks all those meanies to the curb! The plot is funny and nonsensical with great illustrations to match. I'd definitely read this to my nonexistent daughter!
