Description de l'ouvrage

22 novembre 2008
Blushing is the most peculiar andthe most human of all expressions.-Charles DarwinFor most of us, blushing when we're embarrassed or anxious is a common occurrence. But for those who suffer from more frequent or intense blushing, also known as pathological blushing, this abnormal facial reddening can become physically and psychologically tormenting.Noted psychiatrist Enrique Jadresic, MD, offers hope for those who experience this condition with this ground-breaking work. He examines blushing from the dual perspective of the healer and the healed, offering inspiring testimonies of patients who sought medical help and successfully overcame their pathological blushing. Backed by scientific fact, Jadresic explores the delicate balance of human emotion and how it affects our physical responses. In addition, Jadresic discusses options for treatment, including drug therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and even surgery. Frank, compassionate, and informative, When Blushing Hurts offers solid information, help, and hope to those who suffer from blushing.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 REALLY INTERESTING AND HELPFUL FOR ALL AGES 1 avril 2010
Par Timothy - Publié sur Amazon.com
It's a great book. I've read it and I was really impressed with all the different kinds of problems people had because of blushing. This book let's you discover this disease, it shows you that many blushers suffer, perhaps a lot, but none of them talk about it. I'm 17 and I blush a lot, sometimes in situations in which I shouldn't blush at all, so this book made me feel identified with all the different stories. The book doesn't only talk about blushing like a disease other people have, the author suffered it too, and he was able to change his life with a simple operation. I don't like blushing, I sometimes get nervous in social situations because I'm afraid I might blush, but I can live with it. For me it's not so painful as for other persons. Anybody that has a real social problem with blushing should definitely read this book, it will help you feel safe, and it will let you know you are not the only one who suffers because of it. I can't say at my age that I'm much of a reader, but this book caught my attention and I just couldn't put it down. This book will help you if you suffer from blushing, and it will really interest you, even if you blush like average people. It's a book I recommend for all ages, the language is not complicated, and it's always nice to read an interesting book. REALLY INTERESTING AND HELPFUL.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 great book! 9 décembre 2008

I have just finished reading this book and I've found it very interesting and revealing. It speaks about a condition that can be so painful inside the soul of the one that experiences it like karma in their every day life.
And it gives an idea to the people that don't understand this affliction and that can't imagine how it is to suffer it.
This book showed me that this problem is more common than what I thought and that there is a cure...

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A must read 20 mai 2010

I just finished reading When Blushing Hurts wanted to share how informative, eye-opening and uniquely inspiring this book is. Written from a place of empathy by a medical professional who himself suffered from PB and was healed, it addresses technical information, social discomforts, treatment options available and most importantly shares the light at the end of the tunnel. This book is a must-read!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A real eye-opener 4 mai 2009
Par J. Henderson - Publié sur Amazon.com
This book is a real eye-opener. Most of us don't have any idea of the social discomfort many people go through because of uncontrollable blushing, and many blushers don't realize that treatment is available. This book is a must-read for anyone who blushes constantly or for family and friends of someone who does, as it can help them understand the difficulty that person faces in dealing with everyday situations.

I was very grateful to find this book. It was so good to read that a professional in the psychiatric field should suffer from a similar disorger as myself. It made me realize how not alone i am in this situation. I am relieved to find out that there are in fact options out there for individuals who are as desperate as i am right now. Thank you Dr. Jadresic.
