Thorbjörg Hafsteinsdottir may be 54 years young but she is a radiant beauty who merely placing herself on the cover of this book should be incentive for everyone to join the throngs of followers in her native Scandinavia. The aspect of this book in comparison with the countless others that claim to have the secrets of staying young is the intense research the author has done to provide solid backup for everything she says. She writes so clearly and casually that instead of a coaching program her book makes you feel like you are having a private conversation with a very wise woman who just happens to know how to care for her integument, her nutrition, her exercise, her mind and is able to share that with the reader.
An example of how she communicates: `Thorbjörg's daily steps towards eternal youth - make a couple of them your own or adopt the whole package. I splash cold water in my face. I drink a big glass of chilled water. I take my herbal hormone-friendly supplements. I do my push-ups, sit-ups and floor exercises. I mix my morning shake and plan my day while listening to soothing music. I scrub my skin with a soft brush and apply my favorite skin products. Each morning I prepare a packed lunch, snacks and food supplements for the day. I take two five-minute breaks at work each day to empty my head of thoughts. I go to yoga classes or jog every second day - for me, late afternoon is the best time. I make sure I get between seven and eight hours of quality sleep every night.'

Getting down to the business at hand she first discusses the aging process: `Warning signs that you are older than your age - Too many wrinkles (smile lines are OK), Sagging skin on your face and body, Dark circles under your eyes, Bags under your eyes, White spots on your nails or brittle nails, Dry skin and dry mucous membranes, Excess weight or obesity, Fatigue Sallow skin color, The whites of your eyes are yellowish, Liver spots or brown spots on your hands and face, Double chin, Dry hair, brittle hair or hair loss' and on and on. Her promise of 10 years Younger in 10 weeks begins with charts to calculate your biological ageand with that diary in hand, she begins the week by week (and within each week the daily instructions) very briefly summarized as follows:
Week 1 Aware and 100% ready keep diary, take photos beware of free radicals, use antioxidants to fight free radicals
Week 2 Sugar free diet (sugar gives you sagging skin and wrinkles)
Week 3 Nutrition - Eat anti aging foods eat small portions, emphasize vegetables. (Thorbjörg's super 20 anti-ageing foods Broccoli and kale, Green tea, Chia seed, flaxseeds, and flax oil, Salmon, Tofu, Tomatoes, Sweet potatoes and other root vegetables, Almonds and nuts, Quinoa, Whey protein isolate, Blueberries (and other berries), fresh and frozen, Watermelon and pomegranate, Spinach, Lemon, Turmeric, ginger and garlic, Coconut and coconut oil, Mung beans, Real butter or ghee from grass fed cows or goats, Parsley, Organic chicken,
Grains, Nuts and seeds. She focuses on all aspects of digestion
Week 4 Exercise `Exercise keeps you young. Over-exertion makes you old. If you often train hard for two hours in a row, you'll get old before your time.'
Weeks 5 - 7 Detox `The anti-aging detox consists of four elements - Cleansing, Elimination, Regeneration and improvement, Renewal and maintenance'
Week 8 Meditation - de-stressing and relaxing `Find peace and quiet, and bring beauty and health back into your life'
Week 9 Boost your genes and body cells vitamins, minerals supplements
Week 10 Lovely hormones in stead of artificial ones

The remainder of the book deals with care of the skin and hair including her own recommendations for products or for additives to your own products and a special recipe for cellulite treatment. Then come recipes and tips galore. This is a very thorough book, one that will keep you reading for a long time - while you are making our body years younger than your chronological age. Probably a good plan, but you would need hundreds of dollars a month ( and yes, I read her advice about spending money on health is better than spending it on doctors) in specialized supplements and hard to obtain foods (beet juice crystals, for one) on a long term basis. And if you're not in a major city, you'll need to get it all online. Lots of links in the book, but many of them dead end into an"under construction" screen. But the ones with supplement recommendations, they all take you directly to Amazon, no problem. Perhaps if you have a city job with a good income this would be great, but if you live in a rural area where wages aren't as high this is pretty unfeasable.

I started this book by, as they instruct, taking the online quiz to check what my biological age is. Not my chronological age - I know that - but how old my body is. I was shocked to see that my biological age is 28 years older than my biological age, making my biological age 71. REALLY? 71? And I consider myself to be a relatively healthy person!

I had a lot of work to do. The book advised that I follow the entire program to try to improve my health and I was ready to go after receiving that bad news. You start by tracking all of your food as well as your moods and any aches and pains you have. I love that they have downloadable journal pages online. It makes it super easy!

Giving up sugar was difficult, but not as bad as I expected it to be. With all of the information out there, I know it's what I need to do. I love that this program allows you to eat fruit and doesn't limit natural sugars like honey. It makes it much easier! After just a few weeks I noticed a significant difference in my energy levels and how I felt. It was actually pretty easy for me to incorporate this plan. It seems I knew what I needed to do... Do you want to look like the cover model when you are in your 50s?

I sure do! This book contains the complete plan to accomplish a real age that is close or less than your biological age. I’m 43, and took the online evaluation to see what age my body was. The number was so shocking that I didn’t even do the calculation to come up with my real age.

I haven’t started the program yet, but it’s written in such a way that is easy to understand and seems easy to follow.

Unlike many diet plans, you don’t jump into the deep end and cut out every thing you know is bad for you. You ease into it, and limit or eliminate one thing at a time. This approach is way more sustainable for a sugar addict like me. This plan is not too restrictive either. You can still enjoy fruit and natural sugars.

Overall it’s a common sense plan. Maybe there’s nothing really brand new in there, we’ve all heard a bunch of times that sugar, food additives, toxins and chemicals aren’t good for us. But instead of preaching and making you feel like a failure, this book is encouraging and helpful.

Great plan! Very expensive regimen. It all sounds wonderful and I'm sure it works but the cost of all the vitamins, supplements and specialty items you can't pick up at a local store will be a financial hardship in today's economy for a lot of people. I will definitely put certain aspects of this plan into my every day regimen. Very informative and well written.
