A great little e-book for the first timer new to Yoga. Short, simple and sweet this is an easy, to the point, read. I really like the poses (asanas) he chose as these are relatively easy to do - though complex once you learn more about Yoga. For example, Warrior Pose seems easy and you think you are doing it great, until you really reach that spot of balance where your chest lightens the entire upper body and you go "oh there was more to that!".

The only reason I didn't score it five stars is no photos of each of the 15 poses. Also, a short note after each Asana (pose) stating common problems and how to solve or accommodate with a prop would also have improved this book.

However, for free, grab it. Than go online, search the pose he discusses to get a mental picture of what it looks like and try it out. Once you have practiced the asana a few times, you can use this ebook as a reminder of a pose to try - maybe one each day, one prior to starting your day, or one before you meditate or go to sleep.

For someone interested in getting started at yoga, this book is ideal. It starts out by taking you through the benefits of yoga, which are many. Then, the author will take you step by step through each of the poses, carefully explaining each one, and what the benefits associated with it are. With everyday of our lives becoming more and more hectic, we must all learn how to both relax and focus. One of the things that I really liked about the book was how the author took care to explain that many of these exercises can be done anytime and anywhere you need them. I would recommend this book to anyone even remotely interested in yoga. It is a great read, get ready to get relaxed and get a workout!

I just started doing yoga, and I found this book to be easy to understand and very easy to follow. It explains in details the "how to" of basic yoga poses as well as each steps for those who wants to go deeper into the pose. Furthermore, it shares the benefit of each pose at least for us beginner to be aware of what we might get out of a regular practice.

I have been poking at yoga for a little while, checking videos just to find out that what they call basic is hard for me so I decided to give this book a try. The book is very well written, very informative, the information is precise and compact so you don’t get a lot of filler to get to the point. However, it would have been good to add pictures about the poses. A quick Google search on the image tab can fix the problem but that can get a bit tedious. That aside I would still recommend the book to others now that they are warned about the images.

The book was descriptive. Very interesting. However the positions discussed would have been better understood if there were some pictures.
