Présentation de l'éditeur

You really can't see your bones with binoculars...but you can see them with X-rays! Actual X-rays of real bones overlay the quirky illustrations and an engaging, interactive text take kids through the skeletal system, inviting them to find and feel their own bones. Clear explanations (fact-checked and approved by a pediatrician), colorful illustrations and humorous analogies make for a fresh look at a familiar topic, sure to have young readers learning one minute and laughing the next. From head to toe (or from cranium to phalanges), Harriet Ziefert and Amanda Haley are sure to teach you a thing or two about anatomy...and tickle your funny bone to boot!

This book is a great book to teach younger kids about the books in their bodies. It is easy for them to understand because it has little comments that every kid can relate to. It has excellent illastrations and real X-rays. It is very funny, but still gives you the facts. It defedentally isn't the best book about bones, but it is probably one of the easyest for kids to understand. I would highly reccomend this book to families with young kids.

you can't see your bones binoculars!... 5 stars

Anything that gets the kids into the story and laughing, asking questions is a most excellent 5 star read for us!

We talked about bodies and how they worked for days. We sang the head bones connected to the neck bone and on and on with the kids pointing to each bone and showing me and the kids all over again how it works. The pictures were funny and informative. I have preschoolers, ages 3, 4 and 5 and some of the information is over the younger ones heads but, I don't think it mattered to much I am a good improviser and so were the big kids who also teach the little ones by their words and actions. We also talked alot about taking care of our bones with healthy eating, exercising and trying not to break our bones by being and playing safely.

we talked about the differences between animal bones and people bones, the big and long names were too hard for them but it was fun for them to try.

This is a great first book on the anatomy of the human body. The font makes it look hand-lettered. Both text and format make it appealing to youngsters. It's somewhat interactive as readers are told to find the bones in their own bodies that are being explained.

The art work will appeal to young children and the offhanded comments in the text will make them chuckle. On the other hand the x-rays show the real thing and that will appeal to the scientific-minded readers.

This is a fun book to check out for children who are interested in learning about their many bones. The book is pretty funny in both the text and the illustrations but it is still educational and provides lots of facts about bones. One of the things my three year old son liked the best is that it does include the Dem Bones song and he liked hearing me sing it to him. It does label some of the bones with their scientific names too. This book will probably appeal to elementary school children the most.

We have books on bones in our classroom already, but none that are this fun. Full of facts and illustrations with kid-appeal - this is sure to be a winner in our classroom. And, of course, I love the questions/activity suggestions.
