From Library Journal
Collected here for the first time are the songs of liberation of the great Tibetan Buddhist teacher Milarepa. A precocious student, Milarepa quickly developed into a powerful teacher and was instrumental in introducing Buddhism into Tibet during the Middle Ages. The songs in this collection reflect traditional Buddhist teachings during meditation, liberation of the self, and the elimination of desires. The translations sparkle and the songs give insight into the little-known world of Tibetan Buddhism, but given the narrow focus, this book is recommended only for large public libraries and academic libraries.
