So much of the subject matter of this book is realistic. It is a fascinating blend of current events and realistic plot, which though intricate, spins the reader with consistent developments and subplots that abound in the story. The characters are also very believable. It reminds me of Triple Agent Double Cross, another thriller with similar development and pattern. I cannot wait for the next one.

This very fascinating book is as revealing as it is educative, insightful and entertaining. Not only did Ronald Hessler introduce us to the workings of the bigger than life Hoover whose legacy is controversial for the good he did to his country, but also to the damages he wrought on its citizens, he did so in a way that made reading it pleasurable. Spanning several decades, this book takes us into the world of intelligence and the conflicts involving the different branches, than few other books have done.

But the most interesting aspect of the book is the way it delved into and dealt with the current intelligence threats facing America---from economic, terrorist, military and ideological. The global nature of it makes reading all the more good coming with knowledge of current world dynamics. I just read Triple Agent Double Cross, The Triple Agent before reading this book, so it gave me a better perspective of the threat of global terror. Overall, this is a book that needs to be read a second time, if not more than twice.

The good thing about this book is that it is a light-hearted story to read. It is a fast-paced book. I consider it to be one of Grisham's best. Grisham returned to legal thriller with style after his most recent books (Bleachers, Painted House, etc.). The Juror is presented through the eyes of the local newspaper editor. Like all Grisham books, it comes to a very sudden and abrupt ending, but for a change, it doesn't deviate from the story .In this novel John Grisham has created an intense, fascinating and revealing study of a small southern town, and created lively characters that developed with the story. His details are plentiful. Before reading this, I read Disciples of Fortune, another historical fiction; so for now, this genre that was not at the top of my list has a place there now. I like lovely historical fictions that stir the adrenaline flow.

Thrillers, suspense and crime stories are my usual genres, but when a friend recommended Disciples of Fortune, and Better Days Will Come, I thought I should make these sagas my reads for the week. I am glad I did. Now I will take her future recommendations seriously. Better Days Will Come is a full story we can relate to. This story of Love, Grief, Betrayal, Faith, Forgiveness, Recovery, Tenacity, Evil and Good, Impunity and Corruption, Integrity and Honor, is a must read. It is well plotted and well written, and comes with marvelous characters.

I was introduced to John Sandford's works a fair few years ago and Silken Prey happens to be his third work that convinced me of his talent as a writer. It is a very captivating story from the very on. The characters are deep and drew me in straight away. I liked Lucas Davenport from the get go. His flair reminds me of a character in Triple

I like hilarious reads and this month has been a good one for me. I decided to make my weekend a relaxing one and starting off with The Oaf (Things Happen), and then capped it with Adam Carolla's Not Taco Bell Material. The characters are witty and serve their purposes pretty well. The pace is fast and the descriptions succinct. On top of all of that, the writing is smooth and the lines made it the fun book that it is. This book of a beautiful mind deserves all the credits it has been given.

Tracy McMillan's Why You're Not Married, is very insightful and very entertaining. In a world where women are increasingly assertive in public affairs while expected to balance those with motherhood and wifehood, this book comes as a welcome navigational tool in the different routes to find partnership and happiness. Tracy Mcmillan's book was suggested to me with The Oaf, by a friend who thought they provided unique perspectives. He was right. The writing is evocative, descriptive and smooth.

Linda Lafferty's descriptions are clever, vivid and well-written, which coupled with an array of rich characters, make this story the page-turner that it is. Apparently, she put a great deal of time and energy into research, which makes the setting to snug with the time and place, making the story even more believable. The pacing is good too, which reminds me of Triple Agent Double Cross, and Water for Elephants. Basically, House of Bathory seduced me.

I like stories with a political undertone and Rebecca Forster did a remarkable of weaving the many elements to make Forgotten Witness the thrilling story it is and an exciting book from the start to the finish. Its undertones brings to mind the story Triple Agent Double Cross, The Key to Rebecca. The details are well observed.

Clean Sweep is well written and fulfills all the functions of a gripping story, albeit its shortness. The characters are full and the plot and pacing fulfill their functions. Another important point about this book is that it is well written. It reminds me of Triple Agent Double Cross in so many ways.I was easy to follow the story. The pace is fast and the characters are so real that I could easily relate to them. Now, I have made up my mind to read the other books by this author. There are issues in the book that people are faced with in their everyday lives. From this book one can find ways to have meaningful discussions on all interconnected issues. You will not regret reading this book.
