Wannabe Hunger Games, 3 avril 2013
My 15 year old sister lent this trilogy to me, so of course I should have known it wouldn't exactly be for my "age group" but I've read and enjoyed some YA fiction before, so I gave it a try. I can't NOT finish a book / trilogy, because I just have to know how it ends. So this is what happened with this trilogy. I wasn't impressed at all by the writing, I didn't feel any real emotion. The author tries to write from different points of view (the three main characters) but it seems like it's only on the surface and we don't REALLY get to know anyone. It seems so fake. Oh poor Eli I'm so sad. Oh I miss my family. Oh where's Ky? Really... I didn't FEEl the emotions at all. Also I just kept getting déjà vu....It's like the same idea as Hunger Games (the society who controls everything, the war, the rebels, etc.) Except it's just no where near as good. With Hunger Games I could read the books in a day I was so sucked in. These ones....well by the third book it took a long time to finish because I really had to force myself, just to see the ending..... I wouldn't recommend reading this trilogy...
