Much like other fantasy series, Fablehaven is full of magical/mythical creatures and non-stop adventures (and calamities). It is far simpler a reading than The Lord of the Rings or even the Harry Potter series (especially when compared to the last 3 books of that series). Nevertheless, it's quite fresh and enticing, with new (recycled) ideas from the genre. Like others have said, this series is perfect for family reading (aloud, when fighting against the contemporary individualism and technological isolation).

I definitively will keep this series in the bookshelf so I can read it to my daughter when she gets older, along with most of Michael Ende's books for teenagers and children.

I recommend this series to all people with open, hungry imaginative minds.

Hyperion was absolutely great! This... left me with a sensation of total waste of time. It doesn't deliver. It's like reading a masterpiece and then reading how the plot is turned into some stupid horrid videogame.

If you enjoyed "Hyperion" and are curious about what happens next, I recommend you keep away from this book. It won't ruin the first book's read, but it definitively desecrates a little what SImmons what able to accomplish in "Hyperion".

If you still need to know... read it but do not expect anything great. It's mediocre.

I discovered Vonnegut reading Sci-Fi book reviews and top lists.

It's definitively a classic. The style is freshly funny, contorted yet simple (and beautiful).

No doubts about it, I recommend this to anyone who wants to read excellent sci-fi novels, and discover all the game in this gender.

I could not stop reading this third part of the trilogy. So many questions from "Wool" and "Shift" end up being answered here (but Howey keeps a few ones unanswered, probably because readers hate books that leave nothing to the imagination). The book is shorter but not less intense.

As with the previous parts, this book is easy to read (not over complicated), keeps you hooked and counting the pages you have left before it ends. Characters from the first and second books are merged here together, without friction.

I give this book a 5-star, mainly because I won't forget it. It was genuinely mysterious, entertaining and it doesn't fail to deliver.

Howey's "Wool" trilgy as a whole is a modern sci-fi masterpiece! Great work Howey! Looking forward to buy the Sand omnibus now.

I was really absorbed by this second part of the trilogy. So many questions from "Wool" kept me reading and searching for answers. The plot is well laid, although some may find it difficult to follow with all the jumps in time. I didn't though, I actually thought it was great!

As with "Wool" this book is easy to read (not over complicated), keeps you hooked and manages to surprise you again and again (mind you, I'm not talking of major twists on the story but consistent ones that spice up the whole experience). Characters continue to be well developed despite the fact that they multiply.

In general, I'm happy I read this and won't forget the experience. I give it a 4-star, because as a whole it's a fresh read and it's absorbing, and I loved it. I gave a 5-star to "Wool" (because of it's originality).

OK the trilogy is not Asimov, Bradbury, Vonnegut, Herbert's "Dune" or Simmonss "Hyperion" but it's a very good contender for a modern sci-fi masterpiece! Great work Howey!

I really, really enjoyed reading this first part of the trilogy, it was easy to read (not over complicated), kept me interested/hooked all the time, even surprised me a few times (which should be taken as sign for polished, sutile originality, sometimes a rare event for people who watch a lot of TV series or movies of this gender). Also, characters are well developed. The plot thickens as you read on.

In general, I'm happy I read this and won't forget the experience.

Totally recomendable for English native and non-native readers alike. A pro reviewer or literary (reductionist) critic may give it a 4 or 3 (they'll take the book apart for you, describe every flaw and take out points for this or that and won't be able to look at the book as a whole once they've taken it apart), and I dont care it's a best-seller, I give it a 5-star, because as a whole it's unbelievably fresh and absorbing (and no headaches reading this book!).

OK, it's not Asimov, Bradbury, Vonnegut, Herbert's "Dune" or Simmonss "Hyperion" but it's a very good contender for a modern sci-fi masterpiece! Great work Howey!
