Not a good read at all. In fact the book reminds me of a 'B' film ... Don't really come to know any of the characters. I never really got into it and had great difficulty finishing. A waste of time.

A good story, which I won't relate here. All about mothers and babies ... I nearly took off one star for the way it is written, very unusual. Each chapter has the name of one of the characters, who then becomes the narrator ('I') for that chapter. Very confusing at the beginning, and I had difficulty understanding the relationship between the characters. We also keep going backwards and forwards in time. Once I really got into the book, those problems disappeared, and it became very readable and enjoyable, a real 'page-turner'.

I was really looking forward to seeing Kim Edwards' second full-size novel, and bought it as soon as it was available. Unfortunately, for me, a bit of a disappointment. Not a patch on The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I had great difficulty finishing it ... not much of a story, nothing to hold the reader's interest ... in my opinion.
