Travelling all over the world, I have little time to get out of the dream that life is, a virtual reality dream or a real virtuality dream, a dream all the same in which you can easily get bruised by some spiritual projectiles that are sharper and more cutting than any knife in the world. Be careful when you go out not to fall on a bad bad badder boy or a mad mad madder girl who may turn you into some kind of clown, fool or baboon. Think twenty times before speaking and turn your tongue in your brain twenty one time before thinking. And if you meet Bob Dylan's Lady Lay, make sure he/she has the gender you want and care for, because nowadays they have replaced two sexes by so many gneders you may get confused. And do not forget that any Dr, doctor or not, can be who knows what, you name it you have it.

The first thing you must keep in mind when dealing with this author and this book is that she knows all Gnostic gospels and all official canonical texts and that makes you feel humble and lost, especially since this book sets the notes at the end of the volume and the quotations are not referenced within the text, or with footnotes. That makes the book difficult to read for someone who does not have the fluent knowledge Elaine Pagels has. This book is not written for unlearned people and she falls under the criticism of Athanasius: she does not speak for simple people who are more or less obliged to follow the quotations as a patchwork assembly and not as a referential critical… Lire la suite
It is interesting to read this older book after the more recent ones. It reveals some of the ideological axioms and methodological traits and mistakes that he started from. And unluckily it is necessary to go back to basics at times when you are dealing with a bestselling author in a field where it is easy to predict the future, even the future of the world, the field of technology and what's more information technology.
Ray Kurzweil with more recent books took us into the clouds of his cloud computing and appeared on these clouds like some Messiah who was the rainmaker of the apocalypse, that time when humans will be taken over by another world entirely dominated by a non-human… Lire la suite
This is a collection of essays and as such they are old covering the 1983-1994 period with nine articles practically in chronological publishing order. This is the 2006 new edition of the 1996 first edition with apparently only one new thing, the new translation of The Habakkuk Pesher with no specification of the date and two old translations of excerpts of The Damascus Document and the Community Rule. This new edition gives us older articles that enable us to better assess Eisenman's more recent books like "James, the Brother of Jesus" and "The New testament Code."
The method is to be commended. First in his rejection of retrospective imposition which is a real plague in… Lire la suite
