Very good for stationary use (Edit: prone of battery problems)
le 12 décembre 2014
I looked for many alternatives in the last days but I decided to buy Fidelio P8 in the end. So far, sound is impressing, with all tones very clear, enough to fill a big house. Connection very easy. It is not as heavy as I had expected, so it can be carried if necessary. But it doesn't have the portability of smaller but more expensive devices. If you want to use it mostly in your house or office, I can higly recommend it. If you usually move by car, it is also OK but if like me, you travel with a baggage, then I suppose other, smaller devices are more suitable.
All the same, I am happy with my purchase and listen to every kind of music (from Fado to Classical, Rock to French Chansons) and I haven't seen a problem with the quality of music yet. (Why didn't I give 5 stars? First of all, not being very mobile. Secondly, some features that other devices offer not being available: control music from device, phone answer. These were of no importance for me, but may be for others. If you need them, look for others like JBL, Sony.)
Edit: After 1 year's use, I have to update some information. I have been using it mostly connected to adapter as it is staying on my desk. But recently I took it to somewhere and noticed that the battery time had decreased to 40 min! from 8 hours. Battery doesn't charge evidently but there is no way of resoling the problem and as it had passed the 1 year warranty period by 1 month, Philips didn't accept to do anything. They said that Lithium-Ion batteries had to be unplugged after charge but this is not mentioned anywhere, the manuals, their site, etc. So, it is excellent as a stationary post, that is all. If all you need is that, you can find other items for less money.
