The book is a good source of information. The overall content is of high-quality and tends to explain things to people with no experience, thus covering a broader audience. This said, do not get me wrong, while things are explained for all levels, it sometimes assumes a high-level of knowledge in some topics therefore if you want to understand you sometimes need to go a step further on your own.
What I am not happy with is that the book is too much "theory" orientated and do not walk you through how to do things with the tools in a practical way. For instance, the replication explain you how to gather data (methodology) but you have no example of scp, rsync or LVM snapshot illustrated.
If you buy this book, you will have all the theory but you will have to practice on your own and will have to document yourself on how to do a lot of things. I will probably keep it on my desk as it turns to be one of the only few book out there that will cover most topics.
