PS : Ultimate = Integrale
l'un est le nom en anglais l'autre en français

Cette version multinationale s'est d'abord installée en anglais. Puis par le jeu des mises à jour j'ai pu charger le pack langue française, changer la langue d'utilisation, un redémarrage et voilà le tour était joué. Le logiciel était bien une version originale...Que du bonheur donc....

Fantastic OS. After suffering Vista for the last 3 years I was considering pruchasing a new PC, but finally found an offer to get Win7 Ultimate and installed it in my old computer...what a difference! It seems I have upgraded my full PC, now it feels fast again, gone are the days of stupid and constant UAC windows, file explorer freezes and constant OS lockups for a few seconds. So miwed feelings, on one side very happy and quite annoyed with Microsoft for having released such a pile of SH*T, Vista, that I have had to withstand for 3 years.
Things I dont like about Win7, on a more down to earth level: the file explorer is worse than the XP one, less capabilities, and menus changed. As a Mac user as well Im not impressed by fancy windows, Aero effects, etc, so one of the first things Ive done is changing both the visual appearance and the Start Menu to the old XP/Windows Server style (ther are several good free programs like Classic Shell that do it for you in a breeze).
And digging deeper, the Shell capabilities, the windows shell is a joke compared to UNIX, they dont seem to invest on this(except on command line tools to streamline installations and alike).
The Security and Cryptography APIs are still too bloathed,messy,a bit anarchical. Its not about knowing cryptography, its about knowing the Microsoft way of using it, thats the biggest problem/menace in my humble opinion. There is no easy way (or at least I didnt manage to know it) either to get to know the implementation internals of the crytographic engine. Hiding your implementation details wont make your code safer, Microsoft.
The full .NET framework is somehing that I still dont feel comfortable with(althought I love and appretiate the books and the works of Anders Hejlsberg), either(and apparently Microsoft agrees with me as they still havent programmed the OS with it!). I miss the Charles Simonyi days(althought I was a baby on the eighties), one felt safe and confident with the beauty and precision of pure C and Aseembler, now it has become a huge mess...sometimes I dont know what Im reading...messy.
On the plus side, Visual Studio keeps on being the number 1 IDE, second to none: sorry Eclipse and sorry Xcode, but true. They have invested tons of money and talent here and the results speak for themselves.
I presume -but Im not sure- that the Component Object Model has been tweaked also, the implementation details keep the same, but the interprocess communication has somewhat changed, and at least this is partially responsible for Win7 improved responsiveness(if I overcome my laziness these hols will take a look at the latest Russinovichs essay, he will probably have a word or two on this.)
About games, yes they do run faster (Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2). To sum things up, if you have vista, before purchasing a new PC it might be worth installing a Win7 and test the differnce by yourself, perhaps you can save 1000 bucks like myself. Last but not least, the installation is FAST (less than 20 mins) and althought still has 2 annoying bugs-DVD driver is not recognized sometimes in the middle of the installation(WTF???!!!), and strange errors arise when copying or extracting the installation file- the full process is quite good. No, I dont work for Microsoft but if I were Mr Balmer I would send to Guantanamo to the full Vista development team. Enjoy.

Je cherchais WIN7 en version Ultimate... la version la plus aboutie de WIN7, notamment dans mon cas pour le support de toutes les langues, et le support avancé de WINXP

En passant par la boutique que j'ai sélectionnée, j'ai eu la chance de trouver la version que je voulais au prix le plus bas et en version non OEM

On ne choisit pas Microsoft par hasard mais trop souvent par obligation... La mise en route, mis à part les interminables "updates", est sans encombre. On pourrait louer la rapidité accrue mais c'est surtout le fait des dernières innovations techniques ! Une trentaine d'années tout de même pour en arriver là, c'est un record ! Quelques blocages dus à on ne sait quoi car les peintures sont fraîches et les pilotes souffrent du changement et il y a beaucoup de nouveautés hardware. Au départ, on cherche longuement, caché par ci par là, ce qu'on connaissait pourtant par coeur sous XP. J'ai noté quelques bavures dans le langage de remplacement "ultimate" : certains intitulés ne sont pas traduits. Enfin, comme habituellement, promptitude du service d'Amazon.

Windows 7 en version intégral en boîte pour bénéficier de toutes les options et avantages d'un Windows complet moins chers que chez certains vendeurs officiels, mais plus chers qu'une version OEM (sans boîte). Cependant notez que c'est un import anglais, donc en anglais et qu'il vous faudra faire les mises à jours (gratuites) de langues pour bénéficier du pack Français.
Toute l’installation est en anglais mais simple pour la personne qui à des notion de la langue.
L'étoile en moins c'est pour le prix, qui est tout de même chers je trouve.
