I saw the movie (am not a movie fan at all) by chance, and liked it so well that I decided to read the book.
This is one of the saddest books for me. So much waste.
The knowlege that one has "missed the flower of life".
All due to the mire of hypocrysy, pretention and dishonesty of people living in that period.
And cowardice perhaps, on Newland Archer's part, but more honorable than his wife May, who schemed and plotted to
keep him suckered, all under the cover of innocence and kindness.
I felt this in both in the book and the movie. Highly recommend!
