easy to read

Easy to read but sometimes quite superficial.
I've read most of Brunetti's novels and I start being a bit fed up with the family scenes, particularly with Paola, always available, always waiting with a three-course meal (although she works). The repetitivity of the details of the meals given by the author is boring. One third of these scenes would be enough.
I think the way Brunetti gets interested in this particular investigation (through his wife) is not natural, is far-fetched, as if the author wanted to give her a role (which is unnecessary).
Fortunately Venice doesn't disappoint you.
