"Solstice (Kindle Thrillers" by Damian Stevenson is an excellent and gripping thriller.
It follows our heroine Dana as she leaves a safe house or mental asylum. When her friend Tyler is missing she goes to live with her sister in a hippie commune. The search for the missing man however unearth some dark findings.

I loved the way Dana is set up as the vulnerable and helpless figure who is thrown into a much more volatile world than she expects. Not only does she undergo some great character development, her alleged 'insanity' is a great tool of reflection on the alleged #sane' people around her.

Written with great psychological mastery and slow burning suspense the story builds up tension nicely to a more action packed climax.

Well written with great observations on human behaviour and a compelling style this is a great thriller that should find a cult following of its own in no time.

Highly recommended to all fans of the genre and those who want to try

Excellent Read Damian Stevenson!

I read this instantly gripping page turner in one afternoon. The main character Dana on her way to Oklahoma to live with her sister Zoe seems scattered from the beginning of this fast paced thriller. Her boyfriend is missing from the Motel and there is no sign of him anywhere. She never gives up looking for him in this little community where her sister lives.
Everyone seem to live in complete harmony here, but there are strange things going on in this house and everyone seems a little to happy that Dana has come to live with them.
Thank-goodness she has her cat Alice.
There are plenty of mysterious happening going on all over Oklahoma and with the Solstice just days away who knows what sacrifices will have to be made.

If your after a great non-stop action, page-turning book, I highly recommend reading Solstice and be careful what town you end up in. You never know what sacrifices you will have to make.

Wow! What a wonderful thrill ride of suspense and intrigue! This book was very well written and the author's style unique and captivating! This thriller-page turner had me at the first page and didn't let go until the stunning conclusion. I was drawn into the book immediately and wondered where the author was going with this story, but it brings the reader into this bizarre world and never lets up. The kicker is that it is very believable. The characters come alive on the page and drive this wild ride until the very end! Kudos to Stevenson, as the story was well thought out, and very descriptive with great use of language and word choice. I just couldn't put it down. If you love thrillers, stories with plenty of twists and turns, and mysteries that keep you guessing, then this is the book for you! I give it five stars ... and look forward to reading more from this wonderful author!

This is a particularly clever psychological thriller which completely misleads the reader into believing the main character, Dana is as crazy as she is made out to be!
A wonderfully woven web of false information and doubts leads the reader along several paths thinking Dana is delusional as the narrative draws towards an explosive conclusion.
Once again though, just as you think you've guessed what is going to happen, more twists and turns are revealed which found me reading faster and faster to discover how this tale was going to finish.
The characters are realistic and varied and the detail of the plot is brilliantly conveyed.
If you enjoy a thrilling tale, this is the story for you.

"Solstice" is sort of an unusual book. I've never read anything quite like it. It starts off in a psychiatric hospital, then goes to a roadside motel, and then to this -- I-don't-know-what-to-call-it -- WEIRD community in northern Oklahoma. There are a lot of twists and turns that are organic enough, growing in cool ways from what came before. I wanted to see more of the locals and the Rainbow cult, though. Also, I didn't really get Clive Cole's whole backstory. But the pacing was great. I was never bored, and like I said, the plot twists worked well.

"Solstice" is a tight read with very few wasted words. If this is Book #1 in a series, I'm lookin' forward to Book #2!!

If you like psychological thrillers that don’t go one forever but keep you biting at every turn of the page then Solstice is the novella for you. I don’t give away plots or spoilers but I will say that it involves ancient rituals, sacrifices and one woman’s struggle to maintain her own sanity as she tries to get to the bottom of what happened to her boyfriend. Stevenson does an excellent job at having the reader wonder if the main character, Dana, is living in reality or a world distorted by medication and depression. Very well written, Stevenson draws you in with enough details that you can see, hear and feel what is happening around the main character. I loved this story

The suspenseful plot of this book is evocative of the classic movie "Gaslight". Is Dana really crazy, or is someone trying to make her, and everyone around her, THINK that she is. If it's all a conspiracy, then WHY are they plotting against her?

Dana has every reason to doubt herself, yet she has to find the inner strength and resources to persevere, in order to defend herself and discover the ultimate truth.

This book will keep you guessing till the very end, as the plot twists and turns like a snake. You're going to want to keep the lights on for this one.

This is a thrilling and gripping story right from the start, and would make an intense movie. Solstice by Damian Stevenson is an endless stream of psychological twists. I’m amazed by how much depth the author layered into this story. Clearly Stevenson is a natural storyteller and I’m looking forward to more of his work. Dana is an extraordinary character that haunts you long after you put the book down. Anyone that enjoys thrillers or mysteries will love this page-turner. Highly recommended 5-stars.

This is the first book of Damian Stevenson I have read and I am impressed. It is a horror novel with mood and atmosphere simply fascinating and scenes described with incredible detail. Solstice is one of those page turners that are thrilling right from the start and you just cannot put down.
Although I wish it was longer, I strongly recommend this intense story to anyone who loves mysteries and psychological thrillers - it is well written, unpredictable and makes you forget everything else.

I liked this book so much I have read it twice now and still finding twist and turns that I missed the first time around. Dana is a character that I'm intrigued by and definitely want to know more. Is she crazy or not? I really don't care, just want to know what happens to her and her sister.
A must read, over and over again as far as I'm concerned.
