When I started reading, I didn't think too much of the fact that the only means of transport (aside from a doubtfully captained boat) was going to be a motorcycle. Yet the use of this bike is definitely what sets this travel story apart. I was far from imagining all that would be involved in fixing it and importing it to a number of countries. You don't get submerged in too many technical details though, the bike's mishaps just add to the fun for the reader. Isabel and Byron go out of their way anyway to visit small towns and drive poorly attended roads, but the use of a somewhat old motorcycle brings in some interesting difficulties, such as being stranded for a couple of weeks in the same town and missing a boat, leading to new friendships, and situations that the couple make the best of. The text flows nicely, and the tone is humorous, making this book a very enjoyable read.
