Édon's Dictionnaire français-latin is the best modern-language-to-Latin dictionary on the market. I use German, English and Spanish dictionaries, including Smith's copious 19th-century English-Latin work, and Edon is unquestionably the best. Every headword is covered extensively, and variant connotations are made very clear with parenthetical clarifications. Trying to find Latin equivalents for many modern expressions can be an exercise in frustration, but here Édon excels. For instance, "the next time" ("la prochaine fois") in the sense of "the next time when" is "proxime" with "cum" and the future: "La prochaine fois que les affaires seront plaidées" = "Cum proxime res agentur". It is NOT "proximâ vice", a late Latin (5th century) form which many Neo-Latin speakers tend to use. I am very happy to have bought this dictionary and unreservedly give it five stars. Every Latinist should own it!
