LEARN:: How to Stop Procrastinating and Get Help for Your Lazy Habits

Do you struggle with completing projects or specific tasks? We'd all like to get things done and become more productive. But what often happens is we put off important tasks and let them slip through the cracks. The end result? We get overwhelmed by the amount of things to do. In other words, "procrastination" causes you to feel stressed when you're not completing tasks in a systematic manner.

The solution is simple: Develop an "anti-procrastination mindset" where you take action on a daily basis and NEVER get overwhelmed by your to-do list.

RIGHT NOW:: Develop "Anti-Procrastination Habits" to Get Immediate Results

It’s not that hard to stop procrastinating. Really, all you have to do is form the same habits used by countless successful people and make them part of your routine. While these people often have the same fears and limitations as you, they're able to take consistent action because they’ve trained themselves to do so.

In the book "23 Anti-Procrastination Habits", you will discover a catalog of ideas to help you overcome procrastination on a daily basis. Whereas many books provide a simple list of tips, you’ll learn the definition of procrastination, why a specific strategy works, what limiting belief it eliminates and how it can be immediately applied to your life. In short, you will learn the root causes of your procrastination and how to beat it on a daily basis.

HASH(0x94977114) étoiles sur 5 Good "Readers' Digest" survey of common methods, but not innovative in its self. 6 janvier 2014
Par Amazon Customer - Publié sur
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
Pros: a quick and easy read with concise action steps for each habit. Provides a good survey of time management methods that others have developed. A good place to start if you've not been exposed to many time management strategies.

Cons: Not as useful for those of us who've been battling procrastination for a while and are still looking for the "right" strategy. Most of these methods still seem to rely on developing detailed lists of tasks and assigning them to specific dates for follow-up. If that works for you, then this book is worth reading. If you've been there and done that, then you might find "Master Your Workday Now" by Michael Linenberger more interesting.

HASH(0x94977744) étoiles sur 5 A Blueprint For Getting Things Done 18 novembre 2014

Like many people, I suffer from chronic procrastination. I've tried all kinds of motivational methods to get myself going, but it seems like I always wait until the last minute to complete projects. There are times when I simply feel like I have too much to do and no time to do it all. But, this book has helped me figure out a way to start an action plan and actually get things done on time every time. I've learned how to prioritize which projects are worth my time and effort and which ones can be placed on the back burner. I've also realized how not to take on too much of a workload. I think the problem with most procrastinators is that we don't take time to plot out the blueprints for our plans of action. This book helps you do that and a lot more.

21 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy has also helped realize what's important in my life. There are some instances in which it's more important to give things up and put them low on the list of priorities. Procrastination and happiness tend to walk hand-in-hand. When you procrastinate, you are likely more stressed and less happy. When you get things done on time, you are less stressed and happier. Sometimes, part of that means letting go of other peoples' opinions of you and focusing on the only opinion that matter: your own. You also have to realize that you're never going to please everyone no matter what the situation is. 21 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy talks about these issues and more while also dispensing advice on how to let go of those worries.

With a blueprint for ending procrastination and bevy of tips for improving my happiness, I've never felt better. My work life and personal life are humming along like they never have before. I have more time to spend with my family and friends because I get my work done in a systematic and functional manner. If you're a procrastinator like me, then take the advice of S.J. Scott and hundreds of successful non-procrastinators.

I've read many excellent books by S.J. Scott - and this is another winner.

I can't say that I suffer from *terrible* procrastination, but the truth is, if I have a project I'm not 100% keen about I'll find ways to them it off. Fortunately, there are several of the 23 anti-procrastination habits that I can easily incorporate into my life. Of all, though, my favorite is the Single-Handle Process. That means when something crosses my desk, just do it now instead of putting it aside until a more convenient time. This one good habit keeps me from multitasking, a bad habit that gets me into overwhelm and excessive tiredness.

Although Prioritizing is another of the good habits, I've never found it works well for me because I tend to give everything a #1 or A rating. Then I'm stuck trying to figure out which of the #1s is the REAL #1. However, a habit I've used in the past and can really relate to is APH #19: Develop Project-Based Skills. For me this means becoming a good project manager, recognizing what I can or can't do, or what needs to be delegated and what needs my own attention. The Blueprint step that's a part of APH #19 is excellent - it's this level of detail attention that I know will help me immensely. That's because I know a lot of my procrastination is directly related to being in overwhelm with the size of a project.

While you may not use every single one of the 23 anti-procrastination habits, I can guarantee you'll find at least a valuable handful that will get your project out of the same step you've been stuck on for weeks. Lastly, I want to commend the author for his reference to the TED talks - I've used them to inspire myself - and I'm thrilled to see them included in this book. TED talks can get you motivated and moving forward like little else.

I expected to find a little help, and I found a huge resource in this bundle of information. The book is well organized, a short read, and gave me a feeling of empowerment over my days. I am very pleased with the material, and have begun a 'habits' experiment. It is pleasant to read, and fills the reader with empowering ideas. I am loving this experiment! This book is packed with just what I needed to draft a custom plan to improve habits to accomplish what really matters.

This is a GREAT book. S. J. Scott offers some of the best advice I've read to help break the cycle of procrastination that I've read. I like how the author offers tips and tricks to help you get motivated. I've already implemented a couple of them, and in just a couple of days I already see a difference. I highly recommend this book if you're struggling to just get it done!
