I received a pre released copy of this book for review purposes. All comments and opinions are mine. I'm a guy who within the last few years have went from 255lbs to 180lbs. I was so proud of myself. Then, I got sick and found out I have severe nerve damage. I couldn't work out anymore. I got depressed, gained all the weight back and then some. All the way up to 277lbs. I get injections, epidurals, and have had radio frequency treatment as well as rhizotomomy treatment. As I was about to give up on my dreams of being able to weightlifting again, the Dr gave me the ok to begin again. At the same time, I came across the opportunity to read 51 Days, No Excuses by Rich Gaspari prelaunch so I could review the book and begin to use the information contained within to help me reach my goal. I have a fair amount of knowledge about health and fitness, and also know quite well who Rich Gaspari. For those that do not, Rich is a bodybuilding legend. He competed against men who outweighed him and had far better genetics. He didn't only compete against them, he beat them. He did this by refusing to make excuses, and never give up. An attitude you will pick up on in this book. An attitude Rich drives into your mind, forcing you to believe in yourself. This book is not just an exercise book, not just a book of inspiration; although it contains tons of inspirational real stories about Rich's rise and fall, and rise again life. From his greatest moments, to his worst; it's all in this book. You have workouts, inspiration, diets, and straight forward motivation.. From beginner, all the way to professional; I believe this book has something for everyone. I am using the approach Rich has given me in this book to change my entire life. I am using his no excuses outlook as part of my daily routine. Not just in the gym, or the kitchen, but for every aspect of my life. I have recently come across some really bad times and would have in the past given up. Not this time, I am making no excuses and am conquering my tough times, just as Rich conquered his. I rate this book as a must read. Not just for fitness reasons, but for lifestyle reasons as well. This is not your typical fitness book, it's so much more. You aren't going to find anything like it out there.

When I heard that Rich Gaspari was coming out with a fitness book I knew I had to make this a day one purchase. This book isn't just another book about how many exercises and sets to do, but it tells the story of one of the most inspirational professional bodybuilders of all time. 51 Days: No Excuses is exactly that, a book that will give you a gameplan to build your best body in only 51 days. Make no mistake, the exercises and meal plans don't look easy, but nothing really worth having in life is and that's what I took from this book. This is not a book or plan that is going to let you take it easy on yourself.....your definitely going to be sweating and pushing yourself. Just when you think you have no more to give, this book will make you want to keep going. That's what I took from it.

The book itself has so much information regarding not only exercise, but life advice, relationship, and business advice, that I couldn't put the book down. I really admire the fact that Rich started a supplement company out of this garage and turned it into a multi-million dollar company. Or how despite not being the biggest guy around, he managed to always place very highly in the competitions he entered. Every day is clearly explained whether its through the exercises or the diet plan in a very easy to read manner. I think anyone can benefit from this book, whether its someone trying to lose fat or gain muscle, its all there. Supplement ideas, supersets, how many meals per day, any fitness fan can take something from the book.

This book easily is my top 5 of fitness books and I highly recommend it to any fitness enthusiast .

For years I have struggled to really regain my health, toyed with various eating disorders, always losing hope. This book was an inspiration. What Rich Gaspari was able to accomplish, over 40, and in only 51 days was truly incredible. Additionally, as an entrepreneur, I found inspiration in Rich's stories of perseverance and determination to succeed. Anytime I was feeling down, upset, or discouraged, I read a chapter of this book, and realized that there could be amazing success through trials and tribulation. The business he has built and the people he has inspired, make Rich Gaspari not only a legendary bodybuilder, but a legendary business man and human being. Additionally, I loved doing the workouts in the book, they are challenging, and have pushed my fitness to a peak level. I can't do the diet because I am dieting, but I have used a lot of the meals as samples for my diet. This book, was incredible both for the fitness aspects, but more importantly for the life lessons that will inspire you to do anything, and become your best self with No Excuses!

Very impressed. Not your typical "do 50 jumping jacks and eat tofu" to get healthy book. Rich Gaspari puts out specific details to help you get the look you've always wanted and yet somehow makes it easy to follow with clear and understandable steps. BONUS: this book is also in a sense an autobiography weaved into a fitness book. Highly recommended for its inspirational component as well. I didn't realize that he had bounced back from bankruptcy to start one of the biggest supplement companies currently in the business. No matter what area in life you are struggling with this book will encourage you to get up off your ass and do something to succeed in life.

In his first book, 51 Days: No Excuses, Rich Gaspari takes you through his journey back to competition shape in just 51 days! Rich Gaspari is a former professional bodybuilder, winner of the 1989 Arnold Classic, and three time runner - up Mr. Olympia. He also received the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 and is the CEO of Gaspari Nutrition. The man has the credentials concerning bodybuilding and fitness!

From the very beginning, Rich makes it perfectly clear, this is not a quick and easy way to get in shape. He is very open about these workouts being difficult but reasonable. He also makes the promise that if you follow the philosophies as discussed in the book, you WILL get results. The book takes you through his 51 days of transformation, with an autobiographical story attached to each day. These stories may be about his upbringing, his father, his philosophies, the fall and resurrection of his business, Gaspari Nutrition, or his early days as a bodybuilder. All are great and insightful stories.

As promised, the workouts are difficult, and require a high degree of focus and intensity to complete. They are designed to get you in the best shape of your life! The average workout is around 32-38 sets, so they can be completed in about an hour or so. (No time will be needed to chit chat with other people at the gym while you are working out, as discussed in the book). There is a Muscle Builder Workout and a Hardgainer Workout for each day of the plan. The plan also emphasizes the importance of rest!

In the book, Rich emphasizes the timing and frequency of the meals, but acknowledges that not everyone should follow the same quantities. There is no diet that will work the same for everyone, and he is pretty open about the need for you to find the balance which works for you. Nowhere does it say, everyone should eat X amount of calories to get the body of your dreams. He does state the preferred macronutrients for his plan (the percentages of protein, carbs and fats). I think you will be surprised, I know I was! It should be pointed out, this is NOT a get skinny diet plan; lean and muscular, yes, but not skinny!

Rich Gaspari has accomplished much in his life, and he has the great stories to tell from it! But, to hear him talk about the early days of his career, with Joe Weider, Lee Haney (his workout partner for years), and his time at Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California, were a treat and made for a great read. The respect and admiration for his father is well documented throughout the book as well! My favorite story was the improbable story that brought about the title to this book, 51 Days: No Excuses. What a random number of days, I thought, as I read the title! Well, 51 days was his accidental deadline. Sometimes in life we get deadlines, but I cannot imagine getting the deadline Rich was dealt! It was not a silly class reunion, I can assure you of that!

I highly recommend this book to anyone that is serious about getting in shape. As the title states, 51 Days: No Excuses. It is not going to be easy, but it can be done! This book has enough great stories, an intense workout plan, a nutrition guide, and valuable advice from champion bodybuilder and CEO, Rich Gaspari! Get your copy today, you will be glad you did!
