Présentation de l'éditeur

Take all that can be gleaned from the classic narrative of Abraham and Sarah; add the wisdom of ancient as well as modern historians; then, intersplice the wealth of the most up-to-date archaeological evidence; and a man and a woman of striking abilities, reality, and humanness appear.

If Abraham lived in a pagan environment, how did he become a man of great faith? Who was Sarah? Is there any logical explanation for her dazzling beauty that charmed and enticed kings when Sarah was at the age of seventy-five and again when she was ninety?

Archaeologist Sir C. Leonard Woolley observed that “Amongst the shadowy characters of ancient history, Abraham stands out as a living personality—whom we can know, and with whom we can sympathize...and now, alongside this living personality, we find Sarah—perhaps the most remarkable, yet mysterious woman of all time!”

ABRAHAM AND SARAH is an epic love story, an engrossing page-turner for the ages, a must read for every person of faith.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 History and scripture come together 21 avril 2014

This is a fictional account of how Abram became Abraham and Sarai became Sarah. It skillfully wove history, scripture and fiction together into a compelling story that begins before Abram and Sarai meet. The author includes many familiar Bible characters like Lot and his wife. It speaks of the beautiful Sarai who is just a few generations from Noah, and Abram who is quite intelligent and a righteous man. The couple go through good times and bad, both together and individually. Their unshakable belief in the God of Noah brings many blessings to them and those who know them and worship with them.

I love historical books. I love reading the Bible. This book is written in such a way that helped me visualize real people living through that time, and feel their emotions good or bad. I know most of the story is biblically and historically correct and well researched. I just had some doubt about some of it. Not enough to give it less than 5 stars though because it was a good story and kept me wanting more. Pretty much read it in once sitting. Hard for me to put it down.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 An interesting retelling of the Bible story 8 décembre 2012

This book starts in the mystical region of Sarah's birth and ends with Isaac's birth. Williams keeps the action moving forward and gives acceptable explanations for Abraham's decisions. Sarah is depicted as an intelligent woman, a teacher and community leader in her own right. If you are interested in biblical fiction and have an open mind, you will enjoy reading this book.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 AWESOME!!! 23 juillet 2012

This is a must read for anyone interested in ancient Biblical history. Many are familiar with the story in Genesis of Abraham and Sarah, but the author has taken the known facts from the Bible as well as from extensive research and put arms and legs to them. The result is a compelling story of love and faith from some 4000 years ago. I highly recommend the book.

then the author wrote another book and I order it as soon as I saw it as it was listed as free
but when I clicked on it that price no longer applied so I didn't get it
I think because IO got the other book free they wanted to be sure I didn't get this one free
can't remember what It was about. But if you know your bible concerning Abraham
it seemed to follow events as they occured in the bible
I really enjoyed it.
