Présentation de l'éditeur

Adam Copeland on Edge is what the author describes as “a mental picture.” It's also a dream—“one of many”—that he decided to realize while at home convalescing from potential career-ending neck surgery. And it's a journey that explores not only his life but also his innermost thoughts.

In the small town of Orangeville, Ontario, Copeland was raised by a loving mother who, while working multiple jobs just to pay the rent, nurtured her son's passion for Spider-Man comics and KISS albums. When a family tragedy created a void in Copeland's life, that void was soon filled by the wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who “made me feel like I could accomplish anything.”

For Copeland, “anything” meant becoming a wrestler, an ambition shared by his friend Jason Reso, who would eventually form the indie tag team Suicide Blondes with Copeland, then join him in WWE as Edge's “brother,” Christian. Winning a newspaper essay contest earned Copeland free wrestling training from independent veterans Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchinson. The author shares his vivid, often outrageous memories of wrestling throughout Canada and the midwestern United States and befriending future WWE Superstars like Terry Richards (Rhyno), Sean Morley (Val Venis), and Chris Jericho. Hard work and persistence brought Copeland to World Wrestling Entertainment. But his “inauspicious” Raw debut—during which he accidentally knocked out his opponent—supports his claim that “I had no idea” how to make the transformation to Edge.

Copeland retraces the steps he took to “Edgeucate” himself, from his goth days with the Brood's Christian and Gangrel to ushering in the “E&C Dynasty,” which in turn revitalized WWE's Tag Team division (with the aid of the Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boyz, and countless tables, ladders, and chairs).

With vivid detail and sincerity, Copeland offers his thoughts about not only fulfilling his goals but also building upon them. He shares his actual surprise over winning the Intercontinental title for the first time; the anxiety he felt while splitting up with Christian; his eventual determination “to grab the damn ball out of someone's hands and take off”; the distress of almost losing his long blond hair to Kurt Angle; his wonder over enjoying a brief Tag Team title reign with the icon who first inspired him; the simultaneous pain of a broken marriage and two ruptured discs in his neck; and the nervous energy of returning to Raw in March 2004 and setting his sights on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Truly a FANTASTIC book...Must read for all Edgeheads... 27 juin 2016

I decided to order this book for myself as my treat/late birthday gift since I didn't get anything last month(May)
so I thought, what a better way then to just purchase a gift card for myself, & order whatever on Amazon
& THIS book was it, since I'd read the previews for it before...so after doing that, I was just ITCHING to have the book
in my hands & to read it in its entirety.
To be perfectly honest I'm glad I did get myself something great! =)
I received this book just a few days before the actual delivery date in the morning...As soon as I opened my package,
I IMMEDIATELY started reading the book...I just couldn't put it down...Read the entire book in less then 24 hrs...
Such a fantastic & very easy read as well...It truly felt like as if Adam(Edge) Copeland was actually telling you the story himself =)
The pictures that were included in the book were really great as well, ESPECIALLY the few colored photos which
in my personal opinion were STUNNING.
To all those who are a fan of Edge or (wrestling, in general) I highly recommend this book...5/5 stars
And before I forget, am definitely looking forward to a newer/updated edition, if that ever comes to fruition at some point in time.

Apologies for the title. I can't even to imagine how many have used it so far.

Anyway, Adam Copeland On Edge is good, if short, read. Being a big fan of his tag team days with his "brother" Christian, sorry Edge but I'm a Peep, I was eager to learn how the two got into the business.

I appreciate his attitude of "if you want something, don't waste time waiting".

Other autobiographies I've read, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho come to mind, have quite a bit of inspiring points. Be warned that you won't that here.

I'm not saying that the hard work Mr. Copeland, doesn't feel right referring to him but his first name, is not inspiring, but rather that he tells you his story as record of history. Knowing that he did multiple tours in northern Canada during the winter months, and driving across frozen lakes to get to shows that paid less than a hundred dollars, Canadian, each is a testament to just how dedicated, and stubborn, he is to his dream.

So to sum up. Adam Copeland On Edge is the story of a young man's dream and his journey towards it. It may not be heavy with sentimentality that tells you how to feel. He just takes on his journey and you learn about his trials and tribulations along the way.

Now that he's no longer wrestling, though I'm glad that he's on Haven, I would be interested in reading a new book, but that is for when that book comes out.

In the mean time, any Edgehead would do themselves a disservice to ignore this book.

I'm a huge Lance Storm fan and I read this book because it was one of his book club's (Book Marks) selections. I'm writing this review in light of reading the book when I did which was 3 months ago. I am NOT going to bash "Edge" for what he did long after he finished the book. That's between him and the people involved.

I found the early goings of the book to be quite warm and humble and he really looks out for his mom. I was also entertained by all his stories of how he got into pro wrestling as a fan and eventually breaking in as a performer with his long time friend Christian (Jay Reso)by winning a contest for free wrestling training. A few years back I read Lance Storm's famous "Death Tours" commentaries on his website. It was interesting to read some one else's views from that same tour in northern Canada over the frozen lakes to the reservations. Much like Lance's stories he tells of how they all coped and tried to make the best out of those grueling tours. I also enjoyed reading from his point of view what it's like actually being in some of those crazy ladder matchs he's been in and the long rehab after serious injuries. The book was very light hearted even during the most depressing parts of his life and he never really had a bad thing to say about anyone. So whatever happened after he wrote this book is none of mine or anyone else's business but Adam Copeland's and the people involved.

This book reminds me that people should watch wrestling to be entertained, not get all caught up in what goes on behind the scenes or on the internet (I learned that the hard way) because then it just isn't fun or entertaining anymore. To tell you the truth, I haven't watched wrestling in quite a while because it just isn't that fun escape for me anymore.

i wanted to buy this book right after i heard about it and although i think Edge is one of the greatest superstars ever i did not think the same of his book. It started out all right but he puts quotes from the page to the side which really annoyed me and i found parts of it to be a little dull. But some parts were fantastic like how he described his matches and talked about his fellow wrestlers

this book was alright but i would only recommend it to Edgeheads
