Présentation de l'éditeur

In several book volumes (The Adventures Of Two Little Ducklings), the main characters are of course two little ducklings. They go through various adventures, which will teach your children important and valuable lessons in life and make it easier for them to keep a positive attitude towards tomorrow. There is also a bonus story with the cutest characters and enchanting storyline.

In the first book "There Is No Place Like Home" when the two ducklings decide to go exploring in search of a little fish that has caught the older one's eye, they aren't afraid of getting lost. However, when they hear about the crocodile that lives nearby, they start to think about heading home.

In the second book ''Patience Is A Virtue’’, the little ducklings decide to play a game with their new neighbor. But trouble awaits them, and what starts out as a harmless game quickly turns into a dangerous situation as they face up with a grumpy cat. How are the ducklings going to get out of this one?

Third book ‘’ He Who Dares, Wins’’ shares with us the ducklings' first day at school! Some of their classmates are going to tell them a secret that will set off a whole chain of events, including diving lessons from their friend, the little fish. But their new friends haven't told them everything. Don't miss this exciting episode, and find out what awaits them on their new adventure.

In the fourth book ‘’ Be Thankful For What You Have’’ it's almost time to go back to school after the holidays and the ducklings are unhappy that their friends always have such amazing stories to tell. They decide to have some adventures of their own, so that they have something to brag about. But when they head off into the woods, they might be dealing with more than they can handle.

Bonus story

When Hopsy, the Bunny finds out that he is going to get a baby brother, he wants to share the happy news with everyone in the forest! Unfortunately, not everyone is as happy as he is. Hopsy might have to figure out a few things before he is ready to be an older brother, and his adventures will lead to an enduring story.

All stories are proofread, free of spelling and grammatical errors, accompanied with nice colorful images making the characters, places and events live and colorful.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Short & Sweet Bedtime Stories 10 janvier 2014

Having spent many years reading bedtime stories when my daughters were young, I think I know what will hold a child's interest. These little stories are cute and fun, and the accompanying drawings are quite well done. I read the book using the Kindle reader on my laptop, as I thought that an adult reading to a child would use either an IPad, a laptop or Kindle Fire. I didn't even try to read it on my Kindle Keyboard as I knew the drawings wouldn't display well. However, on the laptop the pagination and page layout was odd. Page breaks appeared to be in the wrong places, and the drawings were too small and ill-placed on the pages. I'm not sure if this is something the author can control, given the plethora of Kindle readers for various devices.

In addition to the formatting issues, I felt that some of the words were just too mature for a toddler - such as persuade, interrupted, embarrassed, swiftness, viciously, approached, and sincerity, to name a few. While I don't believe in "baby talking" to little ones, if there are too many unfamiliar words in a book, you quickly lose their interest.

I liked the fact that the stories are short. Bedtime reading was always somewhat of a negotiation in our household. If they chose a long book, we would have to agree in advance where to stop. With the short stories in "Two Little Ducklings", you can easily find a stopping place.

The picture says it all: two, cute ducklings sharing childhood adventures. A worthy subject for any writer of children fiction, especially one who not only strives to entertain but teach as well. And The Adventures of Two Little Ducklings definitely weaves childhood morality tales that will teach important life lessons to kids.

The book itself is divided into "Chapters" which are distinct tales of our two ducklings. Each chapter tells its own complete story with illustrations. The next chapter then builds off the previous one. In this way, the author shows a child how the decisions of our two ducklings do not go away but continue to effect them going forward. And by the end of the book, the ducklings have already begun to grow up, having made many important moral decisions that have helped mold them into their new selves.

I read this book to my youngest son, and he enjoyed it. Not as much as he would have a couple years ago when he was a bit younger but enough that I can honestly recommend it to other people with young children between the ages of two to four years, adjusted for their maturity level of course. All in all, it is a worthy bedtime story.

This ARC was provided to me for free in return for a fair and honest review. The review you have read was not paid for or influenced by anyone but is my own personal feelings.

Kornelija Kozar is a Croatian author who is also a linguist (she is fluent in Croatian, German and English) and has compiled several of her stories for children in this charming book THE ADVENTURES OF TWO LITTLE DUCKNGS. She gives credit to her good friend Dragan Tovilovic for adapting them into Kindle format, but there is no mention of the illustrator: perhaps that means that Kornelija has also provided these charming images!

Four stories and a bonus make up this collection. Each story is a stand-alone story so that the book can be shared on separate evenings as bedtime stories for children as though they were receiving a new book every night! The stories each carry a lesson - curiosity can lead to problems but there is no place like home; exploring games requires patience especially when danger (in the form of a ill-mannered cat) intervenes; the expectations and realities of attending school and the surprises that brings; and the feeling of inferiority is quickly abated when the ducklings long to fly, but their bird friends envy their ability to swim!

Children will love the stories as the tales bring out events that are familiar, place them in the form of duckling adventures allowing them to both laugh at their own fears and insecurities while applauding the victories that lay in store. Kornelija Kozar has the gift and we can only hope there will be more stories form her imaginative and creative mind and pen! Grady Harp, January 14

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Very cute stories that kids will enjoy and learn from them 24 février 2014

Kids will enjoy these four simply-told tales about two young ducklings and a bonus tale about a bunny, and will learn from the stories to be very careful, for life is filled with danger. The first story tells how the two ducklings swam away from their mom to unfamiliar waters because they wanted an adventure and they wanted to see a very nice fish. A swan saw them and warned them that there was a crocodile nearby, but the two ignored the swan. In the second tale the two start a harmless game, or so it appeared, but the game soon turned dangerous. The third describes the duckling’s first day in school. The fourth show the ducklings unable to learn from past experiences. They know that their classmates will have fascinating stories to tell when they return to school after the vacation; so they go off for an adventure they hope will turn out to be a better story than their classmates can tell.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Cute Collection of Stories with Valuable Life Lessons 8 janvier 2014

The Adventures of Two Little Ducklings is a collection of four fairy tales, each containing valuable life lessons: There's No Place Like Home, Patience is a Virtue, Be Thankful for what You Have, and He Who Dares, Wins. Each story is divided into 5-7 very short chapters. I personally felt the chapter divisions were not necessary, unless a child reader wants to take a break at the end of a chapter.

The one thing that makes this book unique , is that the traditional "bad guys" - a black wolf and crocodile - are not bad guys at all. In the epilogue, the author states that she wanted to create a story without frightening creatures. She succeeded, but to most adult readers, it will come as a surprise that these creatures are not as menacing as in other fairy tales.

The illustrations are nicely done and compliment the story well.

The Adventures of Two Little Ducklings is a good book for initiating discussions about some of the life lessons contained in it. I would recommend it for children age 4 to 6.
