Everywhere I have gone in the military.... When they play fulanito at the base club..... It's over, the party is on it's non stop dancing untill your body is sore as hell....
If you like Dominicon- American style of merengue...I would definetly get this CD along with DLG, Proyecto Uno, And Illegales.... Where ever you go, in a latin club.... These groups you're likely to be dancing too... Even in a U.S. Military installation.... Enjoy the upbeat teampo of Fulanito I highly recommend this cd :)...

I just read the review by the guy from Cali and it totally screwed up my day! I was listening to Fulanito and greatly enjoying the music while i was fishing around for other cds by them to buy on Amazon and i see this complete and utter b.s. review by someone who clearly has no idea what they are talking about. Fulanito is not Merengue Tipico, so if that's what you're looking for then this isn't it (Which you could also tell simply by reading the cd title 'Americanizao'... I think it highlights the reviewer from Cali's stupidity when he says it's 'Americanized Merengue' as if that were a bad thing and as if Fulanito were misrepresenting themselves.. i mean come on, it's right in the title dude.) At any rate, this band is anything but crap. Fulanito represent part of the Dominican experience in America, they make music that pays homage to their American and Dominican cultures and what is wrong with that? This music is a blending of Merengue and Hip-hop and it totally rocks. My favorite song off this cd is "Pecho A Pechuga", which I had just finished listening to before i saw that horrid, misinformed review. Merengue isn't for everyone, but just because it isn't to your taste doesn't mean you have to trash it. This is good music. I would also recommend their new cd "La Verdad", with such bangers as "Diantre", "Gozando Vivire" and "Pegate". Que coman basura todos que odien a Fulanito.

In response to "A music fan from Van Nuys, CA United States". Fulanito might not be a REAL merengue band but either are the few that you mention. They in the genre of Merengue-Pop. That is like calling Justin Timberlake an R&B artist.
What Fulanito does is re-mix Old-Style Merengue (Merengue Tipico) with rap, usually getting the original artist or the old-school musician to perform in the re-mix.
I believe that 4 tracks on this album and a total of 15 tracks in their current collection is for pure dancing the night away! Many of these songs are played at the Copa.
Fulanito is not Merengue or Rap... They are a revival band.
