Présentation de l'éditeur

For untold millennia, comets and asteroids have struck fear into the hearts of humankind. Their stark radiance was observed everywhere with a sense of impending doom and interpreted as signs of the gods' judgment, omens of plague, mass destruction and the end of time. Astronomers recorded their appearance the world over, building large scale observatories to track their movements and predict their ominous arrival. What was it about these majestic wonders of the heavens that inspired such dread? Was it simply a product of mere superstition and social hysteria? The latest scientific analysis and historical analysis strongly suggest otherwise. Our ancestors knew something we have since forgotten, their secrets deeply embedded in the archaeological record and the myths passed on throughout generations. And we have only begun to unravel their mysteries ... Spurred by the discovery of a little known letter of warning to the European Office of Aerospace Research and Development by astrophysicist Victor Clube, author Laura Knight-Jadczyk began an in-depth research project to get to the bottom of the very real threat to humanity posed by these celestial visitors. In The Apocalypse: Comets, Asteroids, and Cyclical Catastrophes, Knight-Jadczyk shares what she found: historical evidence for mass destructions, comet-borne plagues, and repeated cover ups littering our past, as well as clues that a similar fate may be fast approaching.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Perfet starting point for laymen and researchers 18 août 2012
Par C. Schink - Publié sur Amazon.com

This is a very serious read. Laura Knight-Jadczyk has compiled a tremendous account of the historical trauma that the planet has suffered from the tremendous, near life-destroying event of around 12,000 years ago, to the uncountable number of lives lost due to cyclical recurrences of similar phenomena. There is a very useful list of the number of (known and reported) cometary bombardments throughout history, as well as in-depth looks into the impacts these have had on human society.

Laura Knight-Jadczyk manages to tie in modern day celebrations of the dead, paganism, the origins of monotheistic religions, all the while highlighting just how blind we remain to comets and the implications for the future (a stunning indictment on modern day science and politics). It's frightening to see how people who care more about their own power and prestige than the survival of our species continue to turn a blind eye to the evidence that has mounted up before them, and has only been exposed due to the efforts of a small group of dedicated researchers, Laura included. This is an absolutely essential piece of the puzzle. It is not pretty, but it is essential, and with the amount and variety of source material it is the perfect starting point.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Another homerun for investigative research 23 août 2012
Par ColleenE - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
Laura Knight-Jadczyk hits another home run for researching what's become a sensational topic, The Apocalypse, in a scientifically investigative manner. Anyone familiar with her previous works will recognize her shrewdness in picking through data, sorting it out, discarding the ridiculous and putting together the remaining pieces from extensive resources and laying out a comprehensive picture. The resulting conclusion is remarkably stranger, and more disconcerting than any end-of-the-world science fiction scenarios.

Laura invites you to challenge her findings and provides a strong list of reference material supporting her conclusions. This comprehensive, compact book can be read as a primer for those interested in understanding the inhabitants of Earth's cyclical progression through "time" using sound scientific methods and helps us move beyond the pervading sensationalism infused in the "End of Days" predictions

This book is not for those who prefer to bury their head in the sand to preserve their ignorant bliss; this book, like all of LJK's book, are for sincere, open-minded, truth-seekers who appreciate scientific evidence and are able to discard previously held beliefs when confronted with contradictory evidence.

Stay away from this book if you don't want your boat rocked.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Crucial information about cyclical catastrophes 28 août 2012
Par Peter Norquest - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
This book is an extremely useful exposition on cometary impacts and their interaction with human society -- past, present, and future. A very large amount of evidence is reviewed which shows that the Earth has experienced regular cataclysms because of passing through comet swarms, the remains of a larger body which broke up several millennia ago, leaving debris in Earth-crossing orbits with which we intersect every 2-4,000 years. This has resulted in the collapse of empires, dark ages, geotectonic disturbances such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and extreme changes in climate.

The bad news is that we are due to cross through another swarm, and a large body of evidence and statistics is given in the second part of the book which shows that we are experiencing a sharp increase in objects entering the Earth's atmosphere. The third part of the book places cometary interactions into a wider framework, with discussions on historical revision, the corruption of science, the origin of psychopathy, and the the different stages of paleolithic culture. All in all, a must-read for anyone who's interested in where we've been as a species as well as where we're headed, and how knowledge of cometary impacts is crucial to these questions.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Probably one of the most Important books in our day and age! A must read 5 septembre 2012
Par Pashalis - Publié sur Amazon.com

Compiling scientific data throughout time Laura Knight Jadczyk accomplishes the enormous task of connecting the dots about our history and future in a way that was seldom done before.

What becomes evident when reading this most important book is that our history is not that "save" regarding comet impacts as mainstream science want us to believe.
In fact it becomes more then evident that catastrophic comets, asteroids and meteor impacts are much more common in history (and are probably cyclic) then most know.
Not only does Laura Knight Jadczyk proof that there were many cyclic cometary catastrophic events in the not to distant past but she also (rightly so) suggests that those events were one of the main causes of Worlwide cataclysmic events that took out other civilisations in the past almost completely.

taking all the data into consideration she created a new possible "cycle of ages" graph (included in the book) wich seems to be strikingly accurate about our history and future. astonishing!

in short it seems that we are, right now, living in a time in wich the cosmos is "cleaning" the earth again through enormes cataclysmic events and those who know what is coming might be the ones that will survive.

regarding the past and future Laura Knight Jadczyk includes probably the most important reason why those things happened and happening again (with so many people not noticing what is actually on the way). ---> Psychopathy

are once again carefully pulled apart, examined and knitted together into a framework that corrects more accurately the historization that plagues our times. Having followed many of the ideas presented and not taken the time prior to properly assess their merits, this book, albeit frightening in its implications for humankind, past, present or future, takes the facts of our cosmos and political and religious happenings and actually makes some sense out of it all.

Having read other works by Laura Knight Jadczyk prior (urge one to do so if not already), she has an uncanny ability to take our fragmented sciences; more or less kept that way it seems, and bring the strongest facts and arguments together that present something quite often contrary to our popular historical belief systems. It is in this way that people can learn so much more then is on the surface and look forward to reading more from this historical thinker.
