As a parent I know how important it is to be there for your kids. But being exhausted all the time doesn't allow you to be your best to your family or at work. All you want is to get a good nights sleep and this book has some great solutions for pretty much every situation I've seen. I highly recommend it.

I got this book for my sister who has two young children. One is two years old and has asthma which has been keeping her up at night. She always looks so tired and I've been trying to convince her to get professional help with no avail. This book did the trick as it was a short easy read and she's a busy mom. It had a lot of great techniques which she told me she's been trying out. It answers a lot of questions that I think all parents have, the amount of sleep they really need, how much sleep infants need, are their problems with their own child's sleep, how can they get their baby to sleep when they wake up crying. I recommend this book if you're looking for such solutions and aren't prepared to read countless textbooks or studies and just want honest tips from another parent that has been there and tested it herself.

I bought this book for my best friend since her almost 2 years old still wakes up 4-6 times at night.
She had already tried a few other methodologies but found the tips in this book very simple, flexible and immediately actionable.
She liked very much that the author brings you the pros and cons for different possible approaches (cry out- no cry for instance) and that she could choose the one that fits her best.
The sleep log was eye opening for her. The book gave her the courage to try out something else and she even started noticing some progress after a few days!
At the end of the book, there are references with webpage links. She shared a few ones with me and we discovered some great resources on parenting in general.

I didn't know that Gadgets that are supposed to be soothing only work with some babies and some of them are agitated by the constant noise - it's still best to sing for your child :)
Here are some good tips about your new born that you should definitely know but remember that every child has his own personality so trust your instinct. I really loved the book though! It's worth reading.

I like this book. We've been lucky with our kids being good sleepers after 3 months, but I've always struggled with what to tell friends who struggle with poor sleepers. I liked how this book was separated into sections by the age of the baby. I appreciated that the author faces issues head-on, not shirking the delicate subjects.
