Présentation de l'éditeur

Eighteen-year-old Riley Middleton should be far away from home, about to start her freshman year of college on a full-ride scholarship she earned with her unmatched skills on the drums. But instead of marching-band practice and dorm life, Riley is stuck at home—her family needs her. In an effort to help her regain her rhythm, Riley’s best friends encourage her to try out as the drummer for the hot college rock band Luminescent Juliet. But when Riley shows up for the audition, the three band members aren’t what she expected: all of them have more ego than Riley wants to deal with, and they all are drop-dead gorgeous.

Sparks immediately fly with Romeo, the band’s dark-haired and sexy lead guitar player, who doesn’t want Riley in his band and relentlessly pushes her to quit. But drumming is all that’s keeping Riley’s spirit alive—she has to make this work, and if that means ignoring both Romeo’s taunts and his dangerously smoldering looks, she’ll find a way to stay in the band.

As Luminescent Juliet’s fame increases, Riley finds herself caught among the egos and magnetism of her bandmates. If she wants to play the drums, she must find a way to ignore the sparks that threaten to ignite the tensions simmering onstage, ready to explode into a raging fire of passion at any moment.

This book is intended for mature teen audiences due to strong language and some sexual content.

Loved loved loved this book!
It's no secret that I tend to gravitate to the books that have kick ass women and hot guys... Band members at that!
Riley is a great drummer, skate boards, dresses, acts, and shows no fear. She makes no apologizes to anyone. It's refreshing to have an author write a story about a strong woman and not have her be this homely lookin girl. And on the flip side she is forever loyal to her family and does anything to help them out.
Romeo Oh Romeo. And doing another 180, the author introduces you to Romeo who from all outside appearances is this hot womanizing jerk. Then Jean Haus pulls back his layers and you find yourself only wishing that this guy lives next door to you.
Riley had to give up so much of herself to stay at home and take care of her mom and sister because of her parents divorce was heartbreaking. Only to have her try and find something to help give herself a little peace so she tried out for a band. Romeo not wanting any part of her in his band. Not explaining himself he made it a point to try to get her to quit. Riley being as determined as she is wasn't going to let that happen. And that's when the fireworks begin....
I really enjoyed the little insight at the end where the author showed Romeos POV during Riley's band audition. Wow!
Jean Haus did a wonderful job in telling this tale. From the first page I was hooked. The characters were woven together and kept you invested.

To say I liked this book is a total understatment, I F-ing LOVED it. I wanted to devour it in one sitting but sadly I couldnt, sleep is nessesary with five kids. But I did stay up into the wee hours of the night just to read it.

First off I dig Riley and her bad ass drumming, and the fact that she just wants to play is awesome. I love that she focuses on the music when shes in her bubble and no matter how nervous she is once she starts playing there nothing else but the music. Its sad how her family drama is interfering with her personal life but thats what it is life. I admire her for taking care of her sister and mother the way she did and handling the family drama in the end as well. Shes a strong character with a selflessness that makes her strong and im glad she was able to balance everything.

Now Romeo is one hot guitar player and the moddy asshatness makes him hotter. but there is depth behind his hard ass attitude and i never would have thought he was a decent guy, I dont want to give anything away but lets just say hes one of a kind. I love how him being in a band doesnt deter him form his beleives about seperating love and sex and which is worth more. Its all about the little things that make him who he is and those little things are what made me love his character.

Im hoping with all my being that this author will publish this book from Romeos point of view because that is one book Id love to read.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and Im hoping her others are similar to this one in the emotional sense, writing and creativaty. I will be checking out this authors other work and I know from just reading this book I will not be disapointed.

This is a must read, You will not be disapointed.

Wow! This packs a punch! Riley is going thru so much in this book. Major family, emotional drama, caretaker for her 8 year old sister and a father who has left and is starting a new relationship with another woman. Her mother is slowly sliding into depression and Riley has out her dreams and college on hold for her family. This brought tears to my eyes.

To top it off, her best friends have issues going on and she develops feelings for the a$$ of a guitar player when she tried out for a band, her only saving grace and escape from what is happening in her life.

Romeo was a very interesting character. On one hand he is this beautiful rock god and resident a$$ to Riley, on the other hand he shows compassion and caring to her when she has crisis with her mother and younger sister. I loved these two together. I loved Romeo's rules about women and whom he dates. I loved how he wanted to take the relationship slow.

It broke my heart with the responsibilities that Riley had to assume more and more. I am surprised at the fact that she didn't break. I also couldn't understand how neither of her parents were interested in her life. I know she had a lot of issues regarding her father, but for both of the to forget her 19 th birthday was too sad. They were both selfish and I was shocked that Riley ended up being the adult in the relationship.

This was a really good and satisfying read. All the characters were engaging. Give this one a go!

This book was freaking fantastic. I drew me in, kept me engaged, and left me thinking about it when I had to walk away from my kindle and engage in other activities (like work and feeding my children).

Riley was an amazingly developed character. She was a strong, take charge, confident, average girl. She didn't have amazing beauty and wasn't an unpopular freak. She was a band girl (I heart marching band girls having been one myself) who knew who she was and what she loved. Her relationship with her family was turbulent at best, but her love and care of her little sister was amazing. She was one of the best heroine's in a book that I have read in a very very long time.

Romeo, who doesn't want to fall in love or have their daughters fall in love with that boy. What an amazing job Haus did with building a "bad boy" hero who wasn't your typical bad boy. I loved the twist and difference in him and, well just read the book and you will understand.

The plot, story, side characters were fabulous. My last favorite book was Flat-Out Love by Jessica Parks and this book ranks right up there with that one. This should be a five star review, but there was one issue with this book that was really hard to overlook:

Ms. Haus, please please please send your book to an editor. Not just for the spelling errors, which there are several. This book could be fleshed out and be absolutely amazing with an editor having reviewed it and rework some of it.

I highly recommend this book and hope that Ms Haus is working on a new edition that fixes the editing errors.
