Biographie de l'auteur

Sam has had an interest in self preservation and survival (e.g. wilderness medicine, street fighting / self defense, fitness, escape and evasion, urban and wilderness survival) for as long as he can remember.

His accumulated knowledge is a result of years of formal and informal training, career related experience and general interest in survival, martial arts, the military, adventure travel and other various outdoor pursuits.

Describing himself as a 'Survival, Minimalist, Traveler', he has now devoted himself to traveling the world taking training courses (Jeet Kune Do in China, Filipino Martial Arts is the Philippines, Krav Maga in Thailand, wilderness medicine in the US, parkour in Singapore, survival courses in Africa etc.) and sharing what he learns through his training manual style books.

Sam Fury works in close collaboration with SurviveTravel.com and SurvivalFitnessPlan.com

This book is an excellent primer for anyone who wants to get into parkour as a hobby. All the basic moves are given in great detail, with pictures for easier understanding. Parkour is a great way to stay in shape because it works all the muscles and requires a great deal of endurance, balance and flexibility. I can’t think of a better way to stay in shape.

‘Basic Parkour’ will tell you everything you need to know. From how to land safely to “running” up a wall (how is that even possible?), this book spells it out in a clear, concise manner.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is either interested in parkour or is looking for a fun and exciting way to stay in shape.

Parkour is very new to me. It came highly recommended by a friend. I then decided to look for books related to it and came across Fury's text. This is very interesting stuff. The book itself is easy to read win very good illustrations. It is definitely a great way to improve the human body through various actions/activities. I'm so glad I came across this!

Gifted to my friend's son on his birthday as I have seen him interested in Parkour. He was very happy with the book. The pictures are great and give you great insight into the training process. The set up and instruments they use give you a good idea on what to look for with respect to training spots. Recommended

I had no idea what Parkour was until reading this wonderfully written doctrine of the sport.
