I really enjoyed this because for the first time I stopped to think about how I would help my family in a disaster. Books like this should be given as gifts because you rarely think to read one and these tips could mean the safety of those you care about. Worth a read.

This book is a must for everyone! It I a well thought out book that will help you to prepare for every conceivable disaster. When reading through this book I found 2 important items missing from my emergency kit, duct tape and plastic sheeting. They have been out on my list to pick up when I go to the store.

Being in a field that needs to have a disaster plan in effect and go through disaster preparedness training I am going to recommend this book to the government official that trains us yearly, so he might recommend this book to others that are required to plan for disasters. It is well thought out.

This book is a must read for EVERYONE to learn the proper ways to survive when disaster hits!

This covers earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, thunderstorms and lightning, landslides and much more. I like the fact that it also covers hazardous material incidents (which the US is seeing more of every day), and nuclear power plant problems.

It is broken down by prepping, during and after an event which is most helpful. At the end there are comprehensive check lists which will assist one greatly. Also, the elements needed for a disaster kit.

The only item I found that would be impractical for me to obtain is the dry ice. That would be beneficial in the event of a power failure but due to my location impossible for me to purchase.

Most highly recommended.

I have been very conscious about ever being confronted by any type of disaster ever since I have had my kids. Never had any resource available to me neither did I make an effort to find one. So this book was it for me and I made a good decision. It is an easy read and is a comprehensive little book to address many possible disaster situation families can come across. Really good book to have.

I live in earthquake country, high on a hill, just a mile or two away from a fault line. I have spent HOURS preparing our kit for an emergency...and I am just about the only one I know who is so prepared. More of us need to get hold of this book and follow it. It is so important! I thought I knew how to prepare for an emergency but I still learned a lot from this book.
