Présentation de l'éditeur

Delaney McPhearson has been through the fire more than once.
This time it's not her choice to join the fight, it's her destiny.
And that destiny will either be the hope of the world or its doom.

In the last two years, Professor Delaney McPhearson has uncovered two Atlantis sites. Each time, she's lost people. Now, all she wants to do is enjoy the peace with her love, Jake Rogan and those she cares about.

But fate has a different idea.

Plans are in motion for Laney, Jake, and Henry Chandler that stretch back thousands of years and across the globe to a mysterious, ancient Egyptian necropolis.

Everything Laney thought she knew about herself and her past has been turned on its head. She never dreamed the violence of last year was only a taste of what to come - a taste of the destiny that awaits her.

But destiny, like fate, always comes with a cost. And this time, the cost may be more than she can bear.
The Belial Ring is a pulse pounding adventure that will make you re-think what you know about history and asks you what would you do when someone takes away the most important person in your world?
The Belial Stone (Book 1 of the The Belial Series) and The Belial Library (Book 2 of the The Belial Series) are also available on Amazon. And check R.D.'s website for information on upcoming works (

HASH(0x8e9b12ac) étoiles sur 5 If you can ignore the religious-ness of it, these are nearly as good as The Atlantis Gene series! Good reads! 20 janvier 2015

This has been my favorite of the Belial series thus far. It is R.D. Brady so of course there is action out the wazoo throughout the entire story. While it may not be the grittiest, or most accurate portrayal of a gunfight, it certainly is fun and makes the pages fly past. In fact I've completed the first 3 Belial books in 6 days (and I work full time, and have driven 1000 miles in the past 10 days!!) which says a lot.

After reading this particular book I realized that I am quite attached to the characters in these stories and I salute Brady for doing this. In the first book I was kind of....distant from the characters.

Again, just like the first 2 books in the series there are a bunch of religious undertones and facts-ish about angels and demons. I am full on atheist and agnostic and preferred The Atlantis Gene series more than the Belial series, however the Belial books are very fun to read and I just kinda ignore/skip the parts that get real deep into the religion side of things. I will be keeping these on my Kindle for a rainy day for sure!

As with her previous novel, "The Belial Library", the author has continued her diligent research. And again, the first half of this novel is an exciting read. Unfortunately, things go severely downhill after that. Although suspense builds in the second half, and there are many exciting events, the action again appears to slow down. There are many boring pages, and many events that are incredible. Not to be believed in any context.

This review is almost a carbon copy of my review of the author's previous novel. There is too much emotionalism, where the characters are talking to themselves about their inner feelings toward each other, fears for their safety and the safety of others. Sometimes page after page of it. I had to skim through these pages to find content, and all of these detrimental aspects overcome the excitement, action and suspense of the second half.

I just finished reading the first 3 books in The Belial Series by RD Brady (all three on Kindle Unlimited!), and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed them! Take likable characters (including multiple kick-ass women), and mix in a bit of the supernatural, big mysteries, action, adventure, history, archeology and mythology and you end up with a story that will entertain you and leave you, after the third book, looking forward to more. Oh, and Atlantis. And big cats! The only beef I had is that some of the supernaturals are supposed fallen angels - if that bugs you, too, just think of them as bad-ass bad guys and you'll be fine. Really, read the first book - you'll want to devour the next two quickly, I guarantee it!
HASH(0x8e9b1a98) étoiles sur 5 Good but more thriller and less exploration than the other books 17 juin 2014

This book differs a bit from the previous two book in that Laney & Co is not really embarking on a quest of exploration and discovery of ancient artefacts. Well they do go off doing a bit of exploration as well but it is but a lesser part of the book and this time they pretty much know what they are looking for so it is not much of a surprise when they find the item. Also it is not out of archeological curiosity but rather out of necessity due to the situation at hand.

Instead this book pretty much starts of by diving into the various elements of the plot, both ancient and present day, and it is not so much a matter of Laney & Co discovering or simply stepping into ancient mysteries or trouble in general but trouble comes to them. Actually it more or less searches for them, Laney in particular.

I kind of miss the discovery and mystery bit of the previous books. This one is more straight thriller with a big supernatural element. It is nevertheless a fairly enjoyable ride. The cat is out of the bag when I comes to the existence of various people with supernatural abilities and it is not only Laney and her friends that are aware of their existence but the “men in black” makes an appearance as well.

The plot twists around a fair amount and a few surprises awaits both Laney and Henry along the way. Luckily the author stays within the acceptable with the twists and revelations. Naturally she throws in a few teaser revelations at the end just so that you will be inclined to want to get the next book. Nothing too bad though and the book does have a decent conclusion.

On the whole an enjoyable above average book.

As with the previous two books in the series, this book was a fun read, with a darker side. Something happens over halfway through the story which cripples Laney, the protagonist, emotionally and making this reader question if she would be able to fulfill the obligations put on her.

It is the dwelling on this issue that I gave the book a four star rating and not a five. I thought Ms. Brady spent too much time dwelling on what Laney was going through.

The other reason for the less than stellar rating is I’m not a student of archeology and it is apparent Ms. Brady is. There were times I thought the story came to a halt while she described the history behind an ancient ruin. These descriptions are not as bad as author Dan Brown’s, but I found it amusing when one of the characters in the story, Laney’s love interest Jake, shared my feelings when he said, “Go ahead, professor. Tell me.”

My other issue with the book was two of my favorite characters, Yoni and Danny, didn’t get enough time in the book.

But it is impossible for an author to please every reader. These issues aside, I was hooked from the beginning and read the book in a few sittings. The chapters are James Patterson short, making for rapid page turns. The mystery of one character is tantalizing that I kept reading to learn about her. But the book ended without her secrets being revealed which will make me read the next in the series to figure out what is up with her.

I look forward to the next book in the series.
