5.0 étoiles sur 5 Inspiring 9 août 2016

This book is one of our favorites that we always want in our library. It is so inspiring with an uplifting point of view. This is a wonderful book that I would recommend to absolutely anyone. It doesn't matter what religion you are. This is a must read. We bout this to have an extra copy. My husband and I often are both reading it at the same time, so we need a few copies. It is one that I like to go back to time and time again and just read little bits and pieces when I need an uplifting message. This is really well written.

A bishop recommended this book to me and it changed my life. I could tell you a lot of things about Jesus Christ, but I did not know Him and or begin to comprehend what His Atonement means in my life. I thought I had to do a lot of good things to balance the scale of mistakes I had made. This book taught me that is negating the Atonement in my life.

The title story, the Parable of the Bicycle is a profound explanation of how the Atonement really works in our lives and the Savior's love for us. The book is sprinkled with other real-life examples to help us comprehend the scriptural documented teachings. I have given this book away so many times because of its powerful way of teaching about the Savior. Do you believe Christ--that He really is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do. That is the crux of the book. You gotta get it!

I have gifted it to teens off to college or preparing for missions and older family and friends too. I have the book in hardback, on my iPad, and I have it on CD to listen to in my car. Plus, I have 2 extra copies waiting on the shelf for when I need to hand out another one.

In this wonderful, well-written book, you will come to know Jesus Christ better, and to understand the deep love He has for you, and thus understand the plan of mercy that has Him at its center. Many of us believe IN Christ, but some of us do not BELIEVE Him. Some feel that they simply aren't good enough for the Atonement of Christ to work in their lives. But all of us aren't good enough. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). But the good news is that if we try our best and strive to improve throughout our lives, then Jesus Christ will make up the difference, and "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow" (Isaiah 1:18). This is the basic message of this spiritual, uplifting book.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 coping with personal flaws and still move forward 23 avril 2012

I work with many people who share the common burden of realizing that we all have weakness and make mistakes. They want to be forgiven and feel relief from their mistakes. There's an app for that. Without Christ we're all dead meat. Stephen Robinson puts our life in a more eternal perspective with wonderful family, personal, and general examples that show how there is still hope for anyone who desires. I have given out several copies of this book to show people that they can still be acceptable and move forward thanks to Christ. This is perhaps the most powerful and central theme of Christianity- that we can be redeemed and forgiven. He gives such great real-life examples that you come away knowing that you too can make it (the bicycle, his wife trying to be everything to everyone, a team, merging businesses, etc.) If you need a dose of personal self-worth and hope, this book will do it.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 After a few more rounds like this, the host invited the man to enter 27 février 2015

The title tells it all "Believing Christ" -- rather than 'Believing in Christ. There is a story about a man reaching the pearly gates and ask what he knew about the Savior. He told what he had learned in Sunday School. The host, asked if he knew anything else; the man quoted some of Christs teachings. After a few more rounds like this, the host invited the man to enter. Along came another man. The host ask the same question, whereupon the man fell to the ground, and whispered, "My Lord, My God." I've long believed in Christ--this book is challenging me to KNOW Him.
