I got this in and put my new HDX 7" in it and I absolutely love the look, feel, quality, and value this cover provides. I highly recommend this cover. I've always had good luck with Belkin covers (have one on my iPhone too).

4.0 étoiles sur 5 A nice case.. once you adjust to it. 21 juillet 2014

OK, so while this wasn't love at first sight, I did end up really liking this case. It's sturdy, made well with quality materials, and looks as nice as in the pictures. The one thing I really love about it is that once it clicks into place, the lip on the side sticks up just a wee bit over the edge of the Kindle. While it's not really noticeable while holding the Kindle, it does seem to offer an extra level of protection for your screen, should you drop the Kindle (which might not be a problem for you if you're not quite as clumsy as I am).

So, the good:
* easy to snap in place and pop out
* looks nice and is made well
* offers protections should you be a klutz who drops things a lot
* stands up well once you get the knack of it... in one position, at least
* the elastic strap around it makes it easy to travel with, without having to worry about the case popping open and the device getting scratched
* speakers aren't covered and power/volume buttons are easy to access
* priced well

The bad:
* the second standing position doesn't hold as well as the first
* until you get the knack of holding it with the case open, it can be a little clunky to hold (fold the back cover up at the center point, lining the back up with the Kindle and then pinching the fold of the case)
* even once you get a knack for the case, it's definitely not as streamlined as some of the other cases available
* you only have the option to stand your Kindle lengthwise, whereas some other cases give you a swivel option

Overall, it's a good product, especially for its price.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Really nice when closed, but... 7 janvier 2014

This cover looks and feels great when it is closed, like a small notebook. Very nice! All of the cutouts are in the right place, and it is well constructed for the price. Also, I really like the way the plastic piece inside holds the Kindle and does not add bulk or cover the edges of the screen with loose "leather" like many of the other covers available. It works okay when you want to prop it up in landscape mode, but there is no portrait mode. The problem is, I mostly hold the Kindle like a book. This is where this cover fails miserably. The strap is in the wrong place to hold the cover open, so it covers part of the screen if used that way. Also, the hinge is very loose and floppy. The back part of the cover that goes over the plastic piece is not attached in order for it to be able to be propped up, and this adds to the floppy feel when holding it like a book. For my use, it is unacceptable. I find that I just want to take the Kindle out of the cover for extended use, as it is just too annoying. The Marware cover for my original Fire is leaps and bounds better in every way, and I wish they made that exact cover for the new Kindle. For some odd reason they do not. I am waiting for something a little more well thought out, but in the mean time, I have just epoxied the back cover to the plastic frame so I can hold it without it feeling like it is going to fall out of my hand. With just a few design changes, (especially the strap location!) this would be a nice cover. Oh well..
4.0 étoiles sur 5 Effective for video viewing, but not great for reading 28 octobre 2013

Overall the case does a decent job of protecting the Kindle Fire HDX. It's got a solid plastic tray into which the Kindle snaps firmly, and it covers all four corners securely. It has cutouts for the speakers and buttons on the back, and the strap doesn't interfere with the USB port, or the headphone jack. So far, so good.

I dislike the wraparound strap closure. But, I knew what I was getting into when I ordered it, so I'm not taking anything off of my review for that.

For video viewing, or similar usage, the built-in stand features are quite effective. There are three angles for the screen, with grooves in the case for the plastic tray to rest in. If none of those angles work, the inside of the case is slightly rubberized, so the friction of the case will hold the device into place at lower angles, as long as you're not bouncing the device around, etc.

My only complaint is trying to read with the case on. It doesn't fold back cleanly or neatly. The case ends up forming a wedge shape, with the thick part of the wedge on the left side of the screen. And, if I don't fold the case all the way back, and instead try to hold it like I would a book, the case flops around, due to the way it's "hinged" to create the video view stand. It seems like the problem could have been addressed with a different style of crease on the "spine" of the cover.

Overall, I'm pleased. It's not terrible. If my primary usage of the Kindle was video viewing, it would be fantastic. But, since I mainly use it for reading and light web surfing, the awkwardness of the cover is a bit of a disappointment.
2.0 étoiles sur 5 Not very happy with this case. 23 août 2014

I had the Belkin Chambray cover for my first Kindle fire and I loved it. This one, not so much. I realize some of the changes I dislike have to do with the redesign of the Kindle HDX itself but some are the design of the case. This case feels much flimsier. It doesn't seem to have as much padding. The "hinge" section doesn't feel as strong and stout. If you are using it vertically, like reading a book, the back side of the case really flops and you have to use the elastic band (which seems to be on the wrong side of the case) to keep it together. Because that "hinge" area feels less stout, it's something fallen down when I have it propped up for watching in television mode. I loved my first Belkin case. This one I will be looking to replace when I can afford it. Overall, it feels cheap and poorly designed.
