HASH(0x9780de7c) étoiles sur 5 Great Kindle Fire Case 19 mars 2012

I spent a lot of time looking for Kindle Fire cases, I am obsessive about finding the perfect case for my electronics. When I was looking for a case for the Kindle Fire, I wanted something sleek and lightweight and the Belkin case turned out to be the perfect case for me.

I spend the majority of my time using the Kindle Fire in landscape mode, so this case is perfect. Once the Fire is in place, it is very easy to slide the case into a stand. I looked at other cases, and they seemed to be a little too bulky for my tastes. This case is a lightweight, soft leather with a plush inside. The Fire fits perfectly inside the case and the straps that hold the fire in place look delicate but are very sturdy. I also liked the different options for the stand - I can adjust how much of an angle I want the Fire to be at - it actually makes a very large difference: like if I am sitting with the Fire in my lap vs. when I am laying down with the Fire on top of my stomach. When not using in landscape mode, the case easily folds behind the Fire in portrait mode. I am undecided if it would be beneficial to also have a stand for portrait mode since I spend so much time in landscape.

I went a few days before buying a case, and that was a mistake! I have been missing the ease of a case that acts as a stand!

I would've been pleased with the Belkin Verve case no matter what, but I was especially pleased since I bought this to replace the awful Fire case I'd previously purchased: splash SIGNATURE Folio Leather Case Cover Fits the Amazon Kindle FIRE Tablet with Stand (BLACK). The Verve case fits my needs perfectly. My main priority was a case with a non-bulky protective cover. The Verve fits the bill with no unnecessary bulk. When closed, it's only 1" thick. The back of the case has an elastic strap that could either assist with carrying the case, or could be slipped around to the front to close both flaps together.

I bought the case with the red interior, and the material has a soft, velvety feel. The Fire is held securely by four elastic straps at the corners of the case. The exterior of the case looks and feels like nice quality leather. The stitching is done well.

When the case is opened and in the landscape stand position, there are several different viewing angles, and all stay securely in place.

Note - I've added two photos up top. One shows the 1" thickness when the case is closed. The second shows the interior of the case when opened and standing.

I purchased this product at Best Buy shortly after I bought my Kindle Fire (KF). It was priced at $39.00 at the time, but is now available for $27.00 while on sale.

Some thoughts on the Verve Folio Stand for the Kindle Fire by Belkin...

1.) made of a quality leather

2.a) the inside panel that actually comes in contact with the KF screen is made of leather that has a soft, velvety quality.
2.b) outer panels... a harder, tougher surface that has a slight pebbly quality to prevent slipping.

3.) viewing angle (landscape)... it is possible by folding the case back on itself, to view the screen at a slope anywhere from about 33 degrees to just below vertical (90 degrees)... great for finding that perfect reading angle.

4.) form fitting... minimal width or bulk added to your KF when folded up.

5.) access to controls... the open sides allow you complete access to the power/sleep button, headphone jack and microUSB port for charging your unit. Although the speakers a partially covered by the corner tabs you can still hear sound through them.

6.) holds your KF in place with four elastic tabs that go across the device's corners... easy to insert, easy to remove, yet very secure.

7.) has an elastic strap across the back that helps you hold your KF when using it in portrait mode.

8.) although I've had this product only a short time, it appears durable thus far. The leather has retained its luster and the folding area shows no sign of cracking or splitting from the bending that comes with frequent use.

Impressions:
A quality product... a slim, light-weight leather case for your KF, providing protection from scratches and minor knocks.

I looked at every case available before I decided to purchase this one and would not hesitate to buy this one again.

5 Stars... more if I could.

I examined Kindle Fire covers ad nauseum. I finally made a choice and thought it was a good one. There are many things I like about the cover but dislike that it doesn’t fit as well as I expected.
It doesn’t close flatly. The cover sticks up leaving a gap between the front and back of the cover.
Secondly, it’s great when used in landscape mode but not in portrait mode – and some apps only come in portrait.

HASH(0x976f1c60) étoiles sur 5 Great case to protect my Nexus 7! 30 juillet 2012
Par Skeptic buyer - Publié sur Amazon.com

Although this case is made for the Kindle Fire, I decided to take a chance and see how it fits my Nexus 7. There aren't too many cases out for the Nexus 7 yet and I don't like the look of the official case from Asus. This Belkin Verve Folio case fits the Nexus 7 almost perfectly. Perfectly enough that I've decided to keep it until more cases come out. The Nexus 7 is held inside the case by 4 elastic straps that slip over the 4 corners. Most of the ports and buttons are unobstructed by the straps with the exception of the power button which is half way obstructed, but still accessible from under the strap. The shape of the Nexus 7 on the edges is tapered at an angle towards the back of the device unlike the square edges of the Kindle Fire. The main issue with this is that with the top right strap in place, it doesn't allow for much room for your fingers to press the buttons. It's possible, especially with fingernails, but more difficult than it should be. You get used to it after awhile. I have found that if you don't utilize the top right strap and just tuck it under the Nexus 7 then it makes the buttons a lot more accessible. Don't worry, the device won't fall out of the case even with only three of the other straps in place. The straps keep the device secure and snug in the case. I've turned the case upside down with just the three straps in place, shook the case, and the device doesn't budge.

Aesthetically, I like the case because when closed, it looks like a ordinary notebook. There is a elestic strap attached the back of the case that you can use to wrap around the front to keep the front cover closed if you want. It gives the case a more retro feel to it, I think. One other benefit I like about the case is the fact that you can use the backside of the front cover to stand the device up in portrait mode. This makes for a nifty stand so you can prop the device up hand free on a flat surface. I'm looking forward to using the device in this position to watch movies on an airplane. These devices, including, phones get tiring having to manually hold them up when watching a movie on a plane. The case also does not add too much bulk to the device. The total width in roughly an inch thick which isn't bad.

The only other complaint I would have is that the speakers on my Nexus 7 are on the rear of the device and there aren't any holes on the back of the cover so the sound isn't as loud from the device due to it being blocked. You can still hear the audio, but it's not as loud. It doesn't sound muffled either, just the max volume is affected.

I can't say how well this case works for the Kindle Fire, but with how impressed I am with how it works with my Nexus 7; I'm sure it will be a great case for the Fire.

One last thing, the outer surface of the case is a matted rough leather. It's stylish and again, gives it an old school notebook look and feel.
