Présentation de l'éditeur

His mate killed in a horrific explosion, ex-Enforcer Damien Masterson now lives as a rogue werewolf. Grief stricken and filled with rage, what depths will he sink to in his search for revenge? And who will be caught in the crossfire? Will it be Eve, a Fae just entering the Awakening stage? Or Rafe McRae, part empath and part wolf? It’s been said that a rogue Enforcer is too dangerous to be allowed to roam. A suspense driven story of love, betrayal and revenge, this latest addition to the Law of the Lycans series is the sequel to Bonded.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Betrayed Days Of The Rogue (Timeline : Sequel To Bonded) 12 mars 2017

I'm reading Law of The Lycans in timeline order rather than series order. This means I started with Bonded which is a prequel to the series. For some reason as I write this review it isn't available. Hopefully it is brought back. As it is primarily Reno and Brandi's story. It is also where Damien Masterson is introduced.

Betrayed Days of The Rogue picks up 18 months later tells what becomes of Damien after he left the Lycan Link hospital. It also tells the story of Dr Rafe McRae and Eve two people Damien meets while in Grassy Hills.

As a reader that liked Damien and wondered what would become of him as a rogue I really liked this book. Although not as Bonded. I found it annoying that a Characters name changed several times from Gordie to Grant. The characters name was Gordon Grant however, certain characters would use the nickname and others the surname. I ended up going back to figure what happened.

Overall I liked the story even though I found Eve 's personality shifts between "fearful and male dependent" To "brave and level-headed" too be believable.

I have read: Mating, Keeping, Finding, Bonded & Betrayed bk1. In the order mentioned above. I enjoy the author's work as she adds more base to the story line apart from the romance factor. Charles knows how to tell a good story and keeps the reader engaged and interested. Personally I prefer Betrayed Bk1 & Bonded more than the other 3. Why? Well there is a history of Lycan world, and infractions Lycans, humans, and other species face throughout their existence. Not to mention both of the later books add significant heroine centered storyline, where she is not judged by benevolent sexism attitude. Well Bonded did much better than Betrayed in that dept. As for Betrayed shows the hero to not be extremely macho, and stereotypical definition of "man should be...". Though all books that I have read of Charles somewhere does portray stereotypes, it's mostly for entertainment and hence not a major issue for me. Apart from that fact her writing style, use of language, plot execution has earned my appreciation.
** Thank you for sharing your work, and looking forward to reading Lycan book 6.

Betrayed is part of the Law of the Lycan series and can be read after Bonded and before The Mating or it can be read after The Keeping. It was very confusing trying to figure out what order to read this series. Nicky Charles suggests reading it starting with Bonded, then Betrayed, The Mating, The Keeping ending with The Finding. It can also be read chronologically starting with Bonded, then the Mating, The Keeping, Betrayed and ending with The Finding. I had to write it down so I wouldn't forget. No matter what order you read them, these books are reeeeeealy something. I was hooked after The Mating, which was the first one I read. I think I could have read them in any order and been fine with it. These are really nice erotic romance books with a great theme. I like paranormal stories and werewolves are strong erotic characters, right? Well, she writes a really good romance and I hope she adds to this series.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Kept me guessing! 3 avril 2013

Okay, let me start by saying this book, in fact the whole series, was free. The author only asks that the reader consider making a donation to their local animal shelter or food bank, which is pretty awesome when you think about it. And now for the book...

It's a little hard to figure out where to read which book in the series. Having previously read 'Bonded,' which is a prequel for the series and ended with a big question mark hanging over the side character of Damien, I decided to read this one next, even though technically I think it's supposed to come after the second book, 'The Keeping.' This turned out to be a wise choice, I think. There wasn't a bunch of spoilery-stuff regarding book one and two, mostly this one stands alone. While it does continue Damien's story, it's not just a book about him but a story about Eve and Rafe as well. Though Damien does figure prominently into the tale.

I enjoyed this book very much! It seemed to be more on the action side than the previous one, 'Bonded.' The characters were well-formed and engaging. There was also a lot of mystery and misdirection going on here that kept me guessing until the end. I'm greatly enjoying this series and hope that there will be more in future books about Damien, a rather complex individual.

While this is labeled as the second book in the series, it should be read after the fifth book in the series. It should also be followed up with the second Betrayed novel to get the whole of Damien's story. The bulk of this story actually deals with a different couple, Rafe and Eve. By following their love story the reader gets to see how far Damien has sunk longing for revenge while grieving for his wife and unborn child. These two plot lines come together seamlessly in a heart wrenching tale filled with many twists, turns and surprises.

Rafe is a Lycan who must keep his werewolf ability a secret. He is also a psychiatrist to the rogues of the Lycan world and is determined to help Damien as long as Eve stays safe. Eve is a part Fae who is being hunted by more than one person, but who are they? The reader never really knows who Damien is working for. Himself, Lycan Link, the assissins. As the story unfolds we see Rafe and Eve find true love despite the obstacles in their way. We see Damien finally realize his wife would not want him living his life this way and always seeking revenge. Damien finds himself once again adrift looking for purpose to his life.

This is a great, emotionally charged novel with plenty of surprises. While it can stand alone I can't recommend the series enough. Oh yeah and most of the books are free.
