This book is everything I have been looking for in a body building reference & the only one worth keeping in a gym bag.

I have trained with weights for 20 years & done tons of programs, used every supplement & tried ever diet I thought had value.

I wondered about this book because it was priced very high in my opinion for a 180 page book but after getting it & going through it I agree with many reviews in that it is very precise to the point proven methods for any training goal you would have from losing weight to adding muscle with all the information you need to plan your diet post work out meals & achieve proper nutrient & supplement modification with proper nutrient timing for feed efficiency.

Based on my experience I have to say I agree with mostly all of these methods have a place based on goal & training phase.

This is a must for any beginner because the hardest thing that most people fail to learn is proper diet & how to make your body work for you.

It is true that I have come across all of this information for free all over the Internet.

I'd also say that usually never get a total picture of everything I need to work out for a training phase all together in simple condensed information.

I think the reason is that something that can be as simple as proper nutrition is actually some how a guarded secret that many successful athletes have. They sell supplements & some take steroids but nothing will ever work if you don't have the proper building blocks.

I value this the most because I happen to agree with most of it from experience & I don't need to go through tons of research every time I work out a new program anymore, I'd rather be able to thumb quickly to what I wanna do & plan the entire phase from start to end.

If your learning & hungry for knowledge and want to dive deep into tons of research do it, that's how you'll learn what works for you but do yourself a favor & pick this book up & then do research on the methods & techniques in this book until you understand it all & then use it as an quick reference when you discover it has it all.

And even better of your just sick of trying every new thing or just want something easy to follow without long winded reasons this is definitely the book for you.

People will also quickly dismiss the simplest & best answer to problems in life.

This has always baffled me but people just want to make things hard or seem tricky.

Believe me even at the Mr. Olympia with all the steroids in the world the winner will have a man behind the behind the certain who is above all else a master at nutritional manipulation.

This book is not an amazing new way to a miracle body, it's just tells you how to make your body do what you want based on science & in the end the only way you'll ever achieve long term health is understanding your body or at least following the simple instructions from someone else who does like Dr. Warren Willey.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great book! 9 mars 2013

I read this book in 2 nights. Easy reading. Author makes it a point to explain in simple terms and does a great job. The information is easy to take in and retain. It completely changed the way I look at food intake and my pre and post-workout meals/drinks. Also the importance of your carb intake timing and the effects of insulin spikes at different times of the day.

Like some people have said, you can find all of this info online... BUT, I have been trying to learn about nutrition online for years and with all the contradicting information I never knew what I am sure I know now. I will always recommend this book/author.

p.s. I have not used the diets in this book YET, but that is probably some of the best content in the book. I have however altered my diet based on the information provided and have been watching the pounds pour off ever since while keeping a strong focus on maintaining/building muscle mass.

Don't be cheap, buy the book! It will serve as a quick reference guide in my library for years to come.
3.0 étoiles sur 5 Where are the charts? 15 novembre 2016

Wham I bought the book, i read the reviews about the charts. I wanted them off and bought the book assuming some folks were being picky. For the most part they were. Many of the charts are unnecessary as their only purpose would have been visualization. Then I got to the chapter on HIIT, and I still have no idea how Dr Willey wants us to proceed worth the workout. Some of these charts are important. If they had them on there, I would rate the book a star or two higher

This book provides a tool-chest of eating plans and training techniques which can be used to achieve your fitness goals. Dr Willey covers the foundational information, such as how to determine your caloric intake needs (depending on your goal), supplements you can benefit from, and then launches into 4 unique eating styles and explains them in detail.

He also provides a sample 12 week plan for each of the following goals: gain muscle/lose fat; gain muscle/maintain fat; maintain muscle/lose fat. With each sample plan he describes, week by week, which eating plan, training type, and cardio to utilize.

I think it would be beneficial to know Dr WIlley's thoughts on intermittent fasting, and if the protocol could be incorporated into any of his plans. However, this book was written prior to much of the recent research and attention given to IF.

This is a GREAT book. It has everything you need in it to build a great body, if you follow it. Part of the plans in this book is being very dedicated to proper diet and not missing workouts. You can't be lazy if you want a great body, and if your determined, this book will help you reach any goals you like. There's a pretty serious typo in this book though concerning the BMR equatoin for women. The beggining of the equation in his book calls for 65 but it should be 655.09. Don't starve yourselves lady! My wife and I were trying to figure this out because she weighs only 30 lbs less than me, but her caloric needs were at 900 calories and mine were at 2000. Yeah right. So we did some research and discovered that we are not stupid! It was a typo. Anyhow, great book, read it, apply it, feel great.
