5.0 étoiles sur 5 Charming, witty, funny and very sexy short story 10 novembre 2011

I saw this short story on the Amazon recommends page and tied it in with Caroline Hanson's full debut novel that received alot of positive reviews so I downloaded both and read this first. I ended up devouring it, it was so funny, entertaining, and downright sexy. Megan Stephens is a witch who's been hired by the werewolf alpha, Zackary Connor, to help him find his mate. His bachelor status has sent the entire pack on edge and they're desperate to see him settled. Of course, sarcastic and skeptical Megan translates this job as Zack having performance issues in the bedroom and grudgingly meets him thinking she'll be in and out in no time. It essentially does take no time at all, even though all of Megan's assumptions were wrong, because she does in fact have exactly what Zack needs to solve his problem, but not without turning their worlds upside down.

This was a fun well paced short story, even if I did wish it was longer. Although predictable, the journey was a lot of fun. It also led me right into her full length novel, Love is Darkness, which I ended up reading in a single sitting after finishing this. I'm glad I discovered this author and the dry sarcastic humor is right up my alley. It's definitely worth the price.

Bewitching the Werewolf was a very enjoyable read that had some flaws. It's about a young lady named Megan Stephens who's a witch that's been hired by a wolf pack to help their leader Zack Connor become highly attracted to and involved with someone before the next full moon. However, shortly after meeting Megan and Zack start to fall for one another and soon discover that they were meant to be.

A very well-written romantic and erotic story for any reader looking for a quick paranormal and very erotic romance between a witch and a werewolf. However, as mentioned before it does have some flaws. The story could have been a bit longer, there could have been some more development in Megan and Zack's relationship and it could have had a few more characters to help them deepen their relationship. Characters to be some more curves in the road that would have either helped the relationship or threatened it (but who end up making it stronger). Plus from this reader's perspective there was either a copywrite problem or a grammer eror when she made a refference to The Stephen King novel, Cujo. She seems to either have not had the premission rights to use the book's name or just must have missspelled it. If it was a grammer issue the name of the title character is correctly spelled with a "C" and not a "K". However, despite these complaints it's still a very good story with greatly impressive detail and it's occasionally funny. Although, I do hope that if the author continues with the serise that she adds some more characters like I mentioned before that help make it more interesting. If I were to rate it on a letter grade scale it would be an 82 (which is a "B-") or on a number scale with one being the worest and ten as the best, it would be a strong eight for this reader. Like as mentioned before it's a very good story, however the author still needs to develope a lot more growth and some more story development. But, she if she keeps at it, she does have the potential to be a really great author someday and the book despite it's flaws is still very enjoyable. Strongly recommanded for readers eightteen and up.

This little short story (I can't possibly refer to it as a book) ended at 52% on my kindle. The rest was a preview of another book. And since it's listed as 65 pages (wish I had noticed that before I'd downloaded) you get the idea how short it was.

I just don't understand how anyone can get properly involved in anything this short--there's no world building, no character development, and virtually no plot. There was one sex scene in a parked car. That's about it. Which is a shame, since what there was showed potential. But for me, something this short is a waste (short waste, to be honest) of my time. I won't be continuing the series.

The beginning was fine. I liked the heroine at first but when she met the heroe she lost her personality. The h was hired to help the H find his mate, but it was never explained how he would know that he had found "the one". I mean, the H and h see each other twice (first when they meet in his office and later when he goes to her hotel room) and he never had a clue. And sleeping around (A LOT) to find his mate? Really?

The end was too abrupt, if you can call that an end. Yes, it is a very short story (less that 80 pages), but why bother and put it out there if the story was incomplete and full of gaps? It read more like a draft.

The good thing? It was free but not even that compensate the time wasted. This experienece is making me wary of freebies.

Book Review-Bewitching the Werewolf by Caroline Hanson

Miss Stephens is a wiccan and has been hired to help a werewolf named Zackary Connor. She is not sure what the exact problem is and how she will be helping, but being the best wiccan on staff she is on her way.
Zack Connor is at the beginning of a crisis. His wolf refuses to pick a mate. He is thirty and should have done so five years ago. His pack has been patient with him but now they are losing what patience they had. The future of his pack rests on this problem being eliminated. He has been actively looking but he is unable to find her. So his mother hired Miss Stephens to use magic to locate his mate.
Miss Stephens is going to try and do all she can. Of course it would be easier if he wasn’t so yummy. She tries to showcase her magic a bit and alleviate his headache. The reaction when their auras mix is shocking. It is hot and full of lust. Zack is shocked and angry. He believes she did it on purpose. He leaves her in her hotel room. He is looking for his mate and the little young wiccan is dangerous.
When they both come through with finding his mate, they are surprised at the results.
This novella was extremely short. I liked the idea of it. I would have liked to see more banter between the characters. I didn't even figure out what Miss Stephens first name was. So I would have really liked to learn more about the characters. I think it would have been more fun if it would have been longer. I really left me hanging and I would have liked to see more of a chase and a development of the relationship. I give it a 2 out of 5.
