Keep in mind that this is a professional piece of gear, so don't expect it to be easy to use.
I got this card with the intent of broadcasting with OBS. Only problem is that the current windows driver version (10.7.1) does not seem to like OBS Studio. I had windows 10 on my stream PC, but the windows drivers would not work with OBS studio. For some reason the only color format that this card seems to use is RGBA.
On the BM side of things, totally flawless. Every piece of their software 'just works' and is surprisingly streamlined. If you intend to record 4k video, get this card. It's worth it.
My favorite part of this card that puts it at a whole new level is their configuration utility. Not only the aesthetics, but the usability and feature set is awesome. I love being able to see a live list of all of my cards and their current resolutions from one window.

Now onto the reason I dropped a star. Like I said before, I had some serious issues with compatability with OBS Studio. OBS studio theoretically has support for the card, as it has it's own source option labeled 'Blackmagic Device' in the add source section. I tried every single option on the windows version, but had no luck. I decided that even though the chances were little to none, I would see if the linux drivers worked with OBS studio. Installed Ubuntu Desktop 16.04 on a spare ssd in the workstation, and everything worked perfectly! I am really surprised that the linux drivers work better than the windows drivers. All I needed to do is extract the individual installers, then use dpkg to install each piece of software. I got 0 errors in the process and it took me less than 5 minutes, compared to the over 4 hours it took me to finally give up on windows.

So to conclude:
If you are going to get this card for broadcasting, it may or may not work for you. Ubuntu seems to work perfectly with these cards, even better than windows. Windows drivers are kind of a complete mess unless you are using the officially supported software for this card. I'm glad I decided to wing it with trying linux. Once the card is working, it is better than any other brand out there. As a side note, the fan does seem to make a high pitched whine, but it is dampened by my t5500's heavy duty case.

EDIT: The windows drivers work perfectly now!

I have since bought a second one and in OBS Studio, formerly Multi-platform, I am able to add them both without any issues. I can control the input and output settings with the Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility and the changes are immediately seen in OBS. I have also used this to capture video from the following game consoles: Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and the PS3 (through a HDMI splitter that strips HDCP). The HDMI audio works in OBS, too, however I find it best to change the audio settings on the device to output 2 channel LPCM audio. This product is amazing and I cannot speak enough good things about it, you will NOT regret this purchase.

This has worked perfectly with OBS Multi-platform version. I have used it to stream and record many hours of content without issues. I use it mainly to capture 1080p60 output from a Cannon camcorder. I don't use all the features, like the the analog connections or audio though the HDMI, but it provides near instant video preview in OBS.I replaced a Black Magic DeckLink Recorder with this so I could do 60p capture instead of only 30p with the DeckLink. I haven't tried it with Xbox or PS4, but this should work with essentially anything that doesn't have HDCP enabled, as it is intended for cameras which do not have HDCP.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Works great! (After software updates after initial terrible release) 11 avril 2016

I use this to capture 1080p60 video from my PS4 at Prores 422 and it works like a charm! Even better, it can capture surround sound audio, though if you don't have 5.1 audio speakers to output to you won't hear all the channels.

I only say this now because the software has been updated since its initial release. I bought this in early 2015, at the time I wouldn't have recommended it because not only was fan was INCREDIBLY LOUD but it flat out wouldn't capture from my PS4. There's a long thread in the Blackmagic Design forums for people who had a similar experience. Thankfully all the problems seem to be fixed now!

4.0 étoiles sur 5 The fan will take some time to get use to but it seems to run fine so far 10 décembre 2016

I've originally had the original Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro capture card, I still have it but I haven't streamed on Twitch in such a long time. So I've been playing my games off cast for a long time and I've gotten so use to playing my games at 1080p but the original one only captures at 720p 59.94. So I decided to order this new 4k capture card since it can capture at 1080p 60fps. At first I tried the settings I knew from before and it didn't work. I wondered if I had put it in the wrong PCIe slot. So I swapped PCIe slots and tried again. Still no luck with the 1080p setting I was choosing. I started to search on google and found out that setting needed to capture the XB1 and PS4 is "HD 1080p 59.94 - 10 bit 4:4:4 RGB" and it worked. Now it's capturing in 1080p at 60fps for my PS4, XB1 and Wii U. I'm currently waiting for my HDCP Signal box for the PS3 so I can attempt to test it with that as well. I was told for the Xbox360 and PS3 that it still needed to capture at 720p 59.94 but the PS3 is capable of 1080p. So I will test it when my HDCP Signal box comes in. Besides that, I'm liking the card so far. The fan will take some time to get use to but it seems to run fine so far.

I am currently on Windows 10 Pro 64bit, i7-4790k @ 4.00GHz, GTX 1080 and 32GB RAM. I know the video card doesn't really meaning anything but that is my PC specs. I am not running into any issues yet but we'll see what happens. Also using XSplit for console capture. Also when I choose the device in XSplit I use Decklink Video Capture. Not Blackmagic WDM Capture. Decklink Video Capture has more settings you can change. Also for XSplit to capture the audio you must make sure to change the audio selection in the Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup in control panel to HDMI if you are using HDMI.

Would never work with 4K. Only 1080p at 60hz. Tried 4 different standards of cables. Tried Different sources. Never displayed 4K once.
