Présentation de l'éditeur

Max Newsome wanted to forget his violent wartime past. He wanted to get a degree, maybe fall in love, start a family and live out his days in peace.

Then the dead rose.

Through a horrific classroom siege and into the devastated city beyond, Max struggles to build a new family from the rubble of shattered lives around him. When they team up with the emergency team from a mysterious organization called Central Outbreak Response, they believe they are safe, and on the difficult path to recovery.

But the dead keep secrets that threaten to destroy everything Max holds dear.

COR:Genesis is a pulse-pounding tale of survival and friendship, love and loss. Reviewers have hailed its rich character development, intense action and visceral brutality, as well as its humor.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Zombie Tale! 28 juin 2016

I enjoyed this fast paced page-turner. Vivid, convincing descriptions of the main character's PTSD issues, too. Arthur, the sidekick, made me laugh quite a few times! Great character! He almost steals the show! Overall, a well-written, entertaining take on the popular zombie apocalypse genre. I'm looking forward to the second book.

Starts out well with the zombie apocalypse happening on a college campus. Army veteran Max quickly realizes something serious is wrong & takes charge to try to stop these crazed attackers from entering the building where he, other students & faculty are holed up.
But apparently Max has never heard of zombies. Never even caught a late nite movie about them. Until very late in the book no one even considers that these attackers might be walking dead. Therefore, the plot becomes pretty predictable. Burying thousands of "dead" attackers next to the camp where everyone is sleeping...bad idea. Leaving people alone in the room with "dead" attackers...ooops. And despite early and convincing evidence that if you get bitten, you turn into one of them, Max battles to save everyone, with very bad consequences.
While the story itself wasn't terrible, I found it really frustrating that until very late in the story no one had the slightest clue they might be zombies, despite the attackers acting the very same way zombies do.
I won't be bothering with the other books in the series.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Kept me interested but... 26 février 2014

The author does a pretty good job of keeping this thing rolling, I was easily able to resist skipping pages and the author did a good job conceptually... he introduced concepts and new-thinking that kept me interested and was intellectually honest enough to suspend belief most of the time.

But... what I kept getting stuck on is that it took the core cast of characters, who had university educations (perhaps why) and it took them more than half the book to figure out that they were dealing with zombies... and almost the entire book to figure out that bitten folks were better off euthanized... sigh... but I guess that helped keep the story line moving.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 love a good zombie story! 13 février 2014

This story is entertaining for sure. I would call it a light read. The characters were very flat and contradicting and a bit whiny. I really enjoyed the story telling of how it could happen but I wouldn't wanna read it again. I gave it 4 stars for the action and story telling. But I probably should only have given it 3 as the characters were so irritating I didn't really care if they made it or not! My favorite person in the story was Arthur. He had more substance than the others combined!

I've read tons of zombie books and this was one of the worst. As the other reviewers have said, the phrase " Can it" was used so many times, it's annoying. The author's style of writing is also not very descriptive. Let's face it, we like to read zombie apocalypse novels because they are gory and imaginative. This is the most PG rated zombie story I've read
