The faux leather is very soft and I can imagine my cat is going to have fun with that the first chance she gets (she has been staring at it with an evil glare since I built it, so I know she can't wait to get here claws into it)...
Shame the back is not very high, I am 6ft and this chair will not support my neck as the back is too low for that.
The chair was very easy to assemble, took me about 20-30 minute on my own.
Tip for building the chair quickly: Don't tighten up any of the bolts until the whole chair is built - I think that is why people are struggling with the holes not lining up - it is all in the technique folks!
In summary, seems a good chair for the price, good support and reasonably comfortable.
So what i got when it arrived was a well package box with all the parts and instructions.
The following are some points to consider:
: - Putting the chair together, was a little fiddly, mainly the top half of the chair conecting to the rest of the seat. (maybe 2 pairs of hands would work better)
: - Chair quality is what you would expect for the chair around this price mark
: - Chair is a little on the short side, am 5" 6 and leaning back on the chair my neck is reaching over the top of the chair.
: - Problerly my bad regarding the tilt of the chair its not the best tilt ive seen the lock works but you really need to push back on the chair to get it to tilt and more to even keep it there, maybe the tilt gets better as the chair beds in ?
Other than the last 2 points i dont think i can find any other faults with the chair - this is no DX Racer, but what it is: is a comfy chair been sat on it now for a good 4hrs and my backside has not gone to sleep,
The chair is good to look at with its striking orange/grey/white stripe style i really like the orange on the back,
Easy to clean due to material used yes i spilled my drink on it!!!!,
And lastly a bargain chair for the price.
I really want to give this 5 stars i really do, but for me 5 stars are for perfection and this is just slightly off, but i would still recommend this desk chair to anyone that asks me.
I really hope this review is of help to others as this is my first review on a product.
Build quality is reasonable, the arms are only held on by two large screws and i've notice after a few days that my right arm has started to wobble, so I need to tighten up the screws again. The back is held on with a strong sterdy piece of metal with 4 more screws while the legs and base use another 4.
Construction was simple and the chair will go as high as most of my other chairs, tall enough for myself as a medium sized adult.
I bought this chair to replace that one and it's been worse. After just 9 months it's already starting to do the same. It squeaks and rattles all the time - especially if you move a bit and apply just a little bit of pressure. It constantly feels lop-sided and if you move on the chair you can feel the base moving. I'm not sure how it has happened, but the silver paint on the left side has pretty much all come off and looks a mess. Two of the four screw covers have fallen out and will not stay in place when pushed back in (so I have binned them). Worst of all, the material is ripping really badly at the front edge of the chair. I have a cat and he occasionally jumps onto the chair, but never grips it and especially not the front edge (he jumps on from the left side usually), so I'm not sure how this has happened.
These chairs aren't really that cheap, but unfortunately they are poor quality. I'd expect my 3 year old chair to have these issues, not one that I have owned only for 9 months. The chair is comfortable to sit on though (providing it doesn't 'sink') and it did look good before the paint came off the metal. I probably would not buy another.
Only two very minor issues, my chair has a little nick in the 'leather'. Doesn't affect the chair in any way.
Also it's quite back-heavy. Standing too quickly will lead to the chair falling over backwards.
Both extremely minor issues and even knowing this i'd def. order again for the same price.
the leatherette used on the different parts give a premium feel for a non-premium price (for this kind of chair anyway). being 6ft 2in tall, even having it fully elevated is a tad too high for me but the holes that your shoulder blades rest in are very comfy.
the construction was very easy to follow, just double check you get things the right way round and not backwards as the seat orientation seemed a little vague, but the amazon picture was enough reference to understand it.
overall its a good chair and at the time of reviewing i've had it for a month. if it breaks or there's a fault ill update it, otherwise i 100% reccomend it and wouldnt be suprised if someone told me it was closer to £100 to be perfectly honest.
I eventually decided I'd give this a try.
I think the price is very reasonable and for what you pay you get great quality!
I suffer from back pain which is why I'm so picky as I seek comfort. We have chairs at work which don't come close to this and theirs are not cheap.
The material is a mix or leather and fabric which gives it a really nice touch.
There is no reclining lever but pushing the lever for the high adjustment in and out allows you to either stiffen it up or be able to rock freely back and forth.
Again, good quality when it comes to the stem and wheels. It feels smooth when seated and moving around.
Putting it together was very easy and took me about 10 minutes.
Highly recommend this chair to anyone!
- Arm padding flat and can feel staples on elbows, ouch.
- Wheel springs went squeaky had to replace
Still own it now and its really comfy for the back and bottom but the arms and elbows are killer.
I do spend every day on this chair for gaming however, at least 12 hours a day and I lean on my arms a lot. So that's a lot of use in one year.
Just kind of disappointed at the price and how quickly the arms went flat and how annoying the squeaky wheel springs were.
After having this chair for a year, it hasn't faired well. The suspension has completely broken so every 20 seconds or so, you'll drop down a few CM's so within minutes you're at the lowest setting and each time it drops it's a little jarring.
The arm has snapped in the middle when leaning back, and because the arm is a structural piece, it is nowhere near as sturdy, even when duct taping the arm back together extensively.
The faux leather on the arms is incredivbly thin and large strips have fallen off.
Changed from a 4 star to a 2 star
The rest of the chair holds up well. The cushion and back look and feel almost brand new still, as comfortable as ever. Just a shame the cheap construction of the structural pieces have fallen through
The chair itself is really comfortable, the fabric is soft enough to not feel scratchy and seems to be really durable so far, had it for about 9 months now and the fabric looks brand new still. The arms not so much, it's a very thin faux leather and came to me with multiple scratches and nicks, which due to the height of my desk have gotten worse as it sometimes catches the arms when I push it under the desk, making those nicks and scratches bigger.
I only weigh 11 stone and the chair has only been sat on and moved backwards/forwards a few inches as I sit at my PC. possibly a defect in manufacture. I will update my review to higher stars if it turns out the wheel was an anomaly.
edited*** after contacting seller they sent me replacement parts, chair is now working fuly and I have chnaged it to 4 stars!
Two weeks after writing this review, one arm has fallen off completely and the other is hanging loose. Complete rubbish!!
******As a final comment, I'd like to say I contacted the seller, via Amazon regarding this faulty chair and they couldn't have been more helpful. Even though I've had the chair for over four months and they couldn't accept it back, they gave me a generous partial refund, dealing with my complaint promptly and professionally. So, even though the chair may be of questionable quality (at least the one I received, I know many others are very happy with it), the customer service is excellent if you do end up having a problem with it*****
The holes for the base screws are poorly aligned, but they *do* fit into the base plate.
However the left arm rest screw holes were very misaligned. I spent about 30 minutes trying to attach the left arm rest because of this and was about to box it back up and initiate a return, but I decided to give it another go. After using a mallet to hit the metal bolt receiver a bit I managed to get it *almost* aligned with the rest itself. A bit of force then managed to get both the top and bottom bolts for the arm rest catch and screw in.
The connection feels solid for the moment, but there is a visible gap where you can see the bolt receiver when you compare it to the right hand arm rest.
However the chair is quite comfortable, and is quite silent for the moment, so that puts it up to 3 stars.
Firstly, the gas cylinder on the seat is going. I'm constantly lifting the chair back up and sometimes find myself sinking in the seat.
Secondly, the right arm has become very loose and there doesn't seem a way to fix it.
In summery, not bad but its got some flaws.
It's got a poor quality feel about it and creaks a bit. It's also not very big - no head support for a 6'2" man or even a 5'6" woman!
Seems to have come from Germany with no VAT invoice, despite it saying it was a UK company, emails are in German. Will update the review when I hear what they say about a refund. No way I'm paying for it to go back to Germany!
