Arrived in Very Good time, but on a very windy day. The delivery men x 2 very kindly took the big box into the rear garden rather than just leave it on the drive for all my lovely nosey neighbours to digest.
You really need 2 people to put it all together especially when it comes to the roof, and it took the best part of a day to fully assemble.
One thing you need to make sure of, is that you read the instruction properly! and prepare parts CO and WA.(diagram included)
You may find like we did? that parts CO are a bit of a PAIN to screw in properly as there is not a lot of room to get your fingers in the corners!
We laid the floor out on a prepared level gravel bed that my old wooden shed resided for 32 years. The floor is well made in one piece with the position marked for the door so you don't get it the wrong way round.
Once you got the floor down just check with a Spirit Level that everything is LEVEL otherwise you might have problems later?
The sides went together well, and you can choose which side to have your window.
The roof was a bit more tricky, so you may need to slot both black plastic sheets into the clear plastic top piece first? then mount the whole thing on top of shed.
Make sure you screw the roof down securely from inside and don't forget there are another 16 screws to also fix roof down from outside.
To sum up:
1. Not as nice to look at as a Wooden Shed and possibly not so sturdy.
2. One great thing is no more treating the shed every 2 years. So it's maintenance Free (well i hope it is)?
3. Hope it's not made of bio-degradable plastic or it may turn to dust in time?
Remember read Instructions properly and beware of parts CO and WA as they are fiddly. Also the Roof.
Choose a non windy day and have plenty of Tea and Biscuits (not included)
Update May 25th 2018:
Just to let you know The ''Bloody Snails'' Love My Shed. They are leaving their Slime all over it......GREAT.
Another Update July 15th 2018:
With all this hot weather we have been having recently the shed likes to bulge out quite a bit...... but returns to its original shape in the evening when sun goes down. So roll on the rain to give everything a good test for any possible leakages (hope not) and then i can see my lovely snails return again.
Yet another Update One Year after: April 30th 2019:
Well, how time flies....it never seems 'One Year Ago' that i received delivery of this little shed.
So, I thought you may like to know how it's getting on?
This little shed has certainly seen some changes in the weather over the last year, what with last years baking hot summer along with some strong winter frost, and all that blustery gale force wind, plus some heavy rain recently.
It has survived so well, the roof never blew off ......there are no cracks in the plastic (that i thought the hot summer may have provided) and it's stayed very clean. Oh, and no leaks.
Now, one good thing is that 'My Lovely Snails' seem to have disappeared thanks to adding some extra chippings all around the edge, and building it up a little. They will have to find somewhere else to hang about at night?
I paid £303 including delivery for this shed and i think it was 'Money Well Spent'.
Please take a look at some pics that i have just added that shows the extra chippings built up around the edges.
'Storm Dennis' updated Feb 20th 2020 : Has stood up to the storm very well indeed....no leaks and nothing has been blown away.
Well no more up-dates unless i get any problems (which i am sure i won't)
'A BIG THANKS' for reading my review and hope i have been of some good use?
You'll need a flat base that is at least slightly larger than the measurements given in the listing.
Easy enough for 2 people to construct, and possible for 1. The instructions are very clear & parts are lightweight. Recommend you avoid constructing on a windy day.
Ours was delivered with some minor faults - a cracked corner piece & discoloured doors. Inside the package was a note to contact Keter directly if replacement parts were needed. I called the number, spoke to their customer service agent & the replacements arrived promptly.
Would buy again, but I hope it will last long enough that I won't have to for a while.
Arrived on time,, luck for us it was a nice dry day with minimal wind. We had already prepared a concrete base due to our patio not being flat and it seems to be keeping everything above water so far.
My husband put it together by himself and it took about 2 hours start to finish. The base is plastic but it is strong enough to take all my husbands weights and bench as you can see on the photo. Instructions are clear and all parts were present. You need to give yourself plenty of room to work around the shed.
My husband didn't use a Spirit Level however it is flat enough by eye that it isn't moving at all. The sides still went together well one window (which can be used on either side) fitted well and looks good.
Roof went on fairly easily, I wouldnt like to try and do it on a windy day though!
In my opinion the shed is well made and looks much nicer and more modern than a wooden shed, and no rotting or painting!
We found one panel (the door) was bowed when it arrived but it doesn't effect use. There is also a small mark on the corner panel, but otherwise defect free.
We haven't had the shed very long but have had a lot of rain and wind since and it is perfect, no leaks and very sturdy. Very happy, thanks amazon for a great produce at the best price I could find on the Web!
My advice, if you're considering buying one is:
- make sure you construct a good, solid, base for the shed - I paid for a concrete base, which cost more than the shed! But with a plastic shed and a concrete base, it will last forever - certainly longer than me, at my age!
- definitely use an electric scewdriver for the assembly - you'll regret it if you don't.
- Don't underestimate the size of the packaging. If you get a `roadside dropoff'', this may require some serious trolleying and handling. I was lucky in that both shed deliveries were trolleyed to where I wanted to assemble the sheds. With Amazon, this will probably apply to you too. In the extreme, you can always open the carton at the roadside and carry the parts!
The shed in use is great - there's a clear panel in the centre of the roof, and a small window which are adequate for daytime, and it doesn't get too hot, but it is used for storage so we're not in there much. It holds everything I need it to - a lawnmower, various garden tools, folding chairs etc, bought a Garden 2 Shelf Tool Tidy by Garland to hold spades, fork etc.
It's maybe not as attractive as a wooden one would have been, but I have plans to tart it up with string solar lights and a few plants, when I get round to it.
The positive is that we actually have a shed that is larger!!
it didnt get assembled for a couple of weeks as many parts were damaged and the box was open and crushed, the courier wrote on the delivery note and took a picture of the box.
I emailed Keter at the address on the instructions but after a week had not had a reply so I rang,
I got hold of a chap and explained the situation, no problem he says and I gave him a list of the parts damaged.
They were all in stock and were sent by DX courier.
Now all the parts present the wife and my self quickly assembled the shed in a couple of hours without any fuss or drama, and we're still married !!
Defiantly recommend this shed
