I was a little worried this might be a little cheesy at first. But once I started reading it I found it truly wonderful! I rarely ever get to read fairy tales with a twist of this kind that don't turn into a ridiculous mess of magic and poof happily ever after. This was truly a wonderful read. I highly recommend it! Especially if you're a fan of homosexual romance! I absolutely adore it! And the author wrote in her own interesting twists to the story. Like a witch instead of a fairy godmother helping the main character. And the gossip the servants talk about happening in the kingdom hint at other fairy tales happening at the same time. That was a remarkably pleasant surprise! I only wish it was longer and a bit more in depth so I could enjoy more happenings with Cinder and the Prince.

I only have 2 complaints about 'Cinder.' The first is that there are a few mistakes like double printed words here and there. Though this is easy to look past. The second, most HUGE (for me) is after I grew to love and support the two main characters SO much and wanted to see them finally consummate it in their lovemaking scene, their love making was completely skipped over! I was looking forward to seeing the two characters finally love each other in such a way but it was skipped. It left me hanging and more than a little sad and dissapointed at that.

Other than those 2 things. If you're looking for a quick, really cute, pulls at your heart strings and leaves you with happy butterflies kind of read than 'Cinder' is for you! Even more so if you enjoy the twist on fairy tales! I really truly loved and enjoyed it and think it's worth the read. I wish there was more!

The mains in this piece had a lot of character.

It was refreshing to have characters who didn't immediately fall in lust, then suddenly realize it was love, and in the next scene do it. This piece had a some of relationship building moments that were enjoyable to read.

This is actually my first experience reading a m/m romance book so I can't say how this compares to other ones, but as far as I can tell it is head and shoulders above some of the M/F romances out there. I did skim and eventually skip over the "sexy bits" though, (it just wasn't my thing) which is why I can only review as far as the romance and "adventure" sections of the book. As far as I'm concerned they were a relaxing and comfortable read, the kind one enjoys in bed on a good day.

The only real drawback to it is actually one of it's strengths, it's simplicity. Naturally this isn't a historically accurate book, it isn't meant to be. The thing is though, there is such a deep human reality in Cinder's feelings and dialogue that his surroundings and some of the other characters start to seem like paper cut-outs and exaggerations. The bedtime story nature of the writing works against the real and three dimensional main. Yet it was the simplicity, the accessibility of the writing, and some familiarity with the archetypes that the characters were based on that drew me to this piece.

4 stars. I really, really like this story.

This was an ok novella, I had issues with the characters being kind of bland. I didn't get wrapped up in the story. I could easily put it down. That being said, I did like the different take on Cinderella. There were no grammar or spelling errors, that I could see, so it was well written. I am a little upset at the fact that it ended at ninety-four percent. SPOILERS: I was confused at the fact that nobody cared in Xanders family that he was marrying a guy, so why didn't he go for it in the beginning. I know you have to have the whole Cinderella story, but the lack of any one in the royal family complaining, made Xanders reasoning a moot point.

It was incredible. One of the best I have ever read. It was definitely worth the read, and am excited to read more like it. I have always liked these cool fairytale books with the happy endings. I can't even begin to find words for this book that give it any justice. Believe me when I say that I am a reader with quite a bit of time on my hands, so I read a lot of books. Often finishing one or two a day. This book was one of the best I have ever read, and I would definitely recommend it, along with anything else by this author.

I loved this. It was light and fanciful as a fairytale should be. What a wonderful twist regarding the shoe!

I loved the dog. The prince asks the dog to find the person who belonged to the slipper and he get it right every time, but the prince doesn't get it. That is sooooo clever.

The ending is also clever and make smile at the end. I enjoyed the ending so much, I read it again. Clever, very, very clever.

The writing is clean, crisp and keeps you interested. I am going to watch for this author. Just when you think there is nothing new to be done to the fairytale someone like this imagines it all anew. Wonderful.
