A larger washer than normal will be needed for the back which downsizes to regular faucet fitting.

This brings it down one star for me. I have it mounted horizontally with a Y-hose which I support
with a brick so that no undue tension will be put on the extra small outlet hole. I have not had it
long but have already ordered two more for other locations in my Garden. The 60 minutes of program 9
was 75-80 minutes. The 30 minutes of program 8 seemed OK. One should check out the times---
they are not Gospel.
Took the product out of the box and read the few instructions included. Hooked it up to the faucet and... nothing. Took it apart, put it back together, tried again and still nothing. The battery in the product was new but I replaced it just to eliminate that as a problem. Tried a third time and still nothing happened. Brought the timer in the house and put just enough water in it to reach the top. I set the timer and waited to see if the water would flow on through. I heard a "click" when the valve should have opened but the water just sat there.
I called Amazon and, of course, their fantastic customer service came through for me. They sent another one out and I had it in a couple of days. However, same problems yet again. I asked my husband to give it a try thinking maybe I did something wrong but he could not get either one to work either. So, back they went to Amazon.
It sounds like most people love their Claber but, unfortunately, I cannot give it a good review because I had 2 that would not work.
I live in Brasil in a house wich have 3 small gardens..I love then and each time I travel I must count with a service of someone to water my plants. The condo used to have someone that was very honest and REALLY took care of the plants but last time I travelled was a big surprise to find my plants almost dying.. They said that "it was VERY warm and sunny and all the plants in the condo suffered a lot etc etc etc.."
The thing is: they didnt water properly even thou I paid for then so the solution was simple!! I found this timer in a final sale at gracious home and bought it to try it out.It was VERY easy to program once that it comes with the possibilities written in there(dont understand how Frank didnt see this..maybe his timer is a bit different..)
Some other reviwer said that "it didnt work at the beggin" and YES..it happened to me..I dont know why but I had to wait..and reconect to the faucet..until it beggan working...and the other problem was that there r several pre programed waterings but sometimes we want something more especific..But for me worked VERY well..im happyly sending this from nyc while I can rest in peace knowing that I will come back and find my plants healthy as I left then!
I have a rechargeable 9-volt battery in it now and I should check it every month or so to be sure it is still working. The Claber is definitely a lot better quality than the Gilmour before it that only lasted a month or two. If the Claber fails after the two year warranty expires, I'll probably try the Orbit timer.
