Praise for COBAIN UNSEEN: (. )

'Unbelievable... beautifully put together and completely intriguing... I've never seen a book like this... incredible' (BBC 6 Music - George Lamb Show 20081103)

'frightening, intrusive and engrossing...*****' (ZOO Magazine 20081021)

'the result is a fascinating hotchpotch of material' (Evening Standard 20081212)

'The inclusion of a CD of never-before-heard recordings is a masterstroke' (GQ 20081103)

'An unprecedented insight into the man who added angst 'n' alienation to rock 'n' roll' (MAXIM 20091103)

'A visual reminder of why Cobain had such an impact and why his legacy endures' (ELLE Magazine 20081107)

Praise for Heavier than Heaven (: 20081107)

‘Cross pieced together a remarkably revealing visual history of Cobain's private life - It's that intangible thing that made him a star.’ (Rolling Stone 20081107)

'I was very glad to read this biography, the result of four years' research and 400 interviews, not to mention the sainted Kurt's police and medical records AND his unpublished journals. I was in hog heaven all the way through - in a caring, wistful way, of course.' (Julie Burchill, Guardian 20081107)

'Cross's portrayal of a shy but prodigiously gifted child, in artistic as well as musical terms, is a joy to read' ( Observer 20081107)

'Superbly researched and harrowing...The squalor is ghastly but the sheer sadness of Cobain's brief life is beautifully conveyed here. Cross has painstakingly accumulated a wealth of telling detail.' (Robert Sandall, Sunday Times 20081107)

'A remarkable revealing visual history of Cobain’s private life.' (Rolling Stone 20081022) --Ce texte fait référence à une édition épuisée ou non disponible de ce titre.

Présentation de l'éditeur

An unparalleled look inside the brilliant mind of one of America's most revered rock legends, Cobain Unseen collects previously unseen artifacts and photographs from the estate's archives to form a fascinating portrait of the creativity, madness, and genius of Kurt Cobain.
Personal items and photographs take readers deeper inside Cobain's life than they've ever been before, and interactive features, such as Kurt's handwritten sticker-sheet of Nirvana name tags, facsimiles of unseen journal pages, and gatefolds of his graffiti-embellished guitars make this an essential keepsake. An audio CD showcasing spoken-word material by Cobain, some of it never before released, will be included. Accompanying the previously unpublished images and memorabilia is a compelling biographical narrative by New York Times-bestselling author Charles R. Cross.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 This book makes you feel back where everything happened. Even if you were't really there. 24 août 2014

I am a huge fan of Nirvana and specially of Kurt Cobain. I have read lots of biographies and books about Nirvana, however this book is quite unique since it offers an inside view to the man behind one of the most influential bands of the 90's. There is a replica of the stickers that Kurt used to promote his band before he was signed by Geffen. I have one of those in my computer. This book makes you feel back where everything happened. Even if you were't really there. If you are a Nirvana follower this book is a must.

This book is great for any Nirvana fan! Or just for the sake of loving Kurt. You can take out anything, from Stickers, look-alike song lyric papers, and just little unique things that Kurt had or was involved with. This book is STRICTLY about his artistic life, and the suicide note is not included. Kurt is so beautifully creative, and I wish, like many others, that he was still here. RIP Kurt, and thanks again.

This is a great book because we're all aware of Kurt's actions; and this focuses more on Mr. Cobain's creative process. A very good, knowledgeable way to see Kurt and let's us in on a better way to understand his lyrics/music. Also, it comes with a lot of pics we are not use to seeing. Very good Mr. Cross, and I envy every second you was allowed to stand, sit and/or breathe in Kurt's Vault of Creativity; as well as getting to visit the many places Kurt lived, stayed or visited. I like this book, and Nirvana's fans will love it as well if they haven't already got a chance to skim it. NICE!

I remember when someone I know got this book as a gift years ago, when I was in middle school. I had minimal knowledge of Kurt/Nirvana at the time but when I saw this, I was immediately more into this gift than any of my own. Out of all the memorabilia I've purchased, this is hands down the most personal and intimate. All the little "artifacts" within the book are an experience you don't get from the other books out there.

I was a little concerned about having spent a considerable amount of money on this book, particulary because I had already read Heavier Than Heaven. However, even though it's a biography about the same person, written by the same author, Cobain Unseen managed to keep me interested from beggining to end. Of course the featured drawings, handwritten documents, photographs and artifacts helped. To sum up, Cobain Unseen is totally worthy of the price if you're a real Nirvana fan and/or obsessed with Kurt's life. If this is not the case, then you shouldn't buy it.
