I was so glad to see that Sara Winlet not only recommends the use of coconut flour instead of wheat or barley or rye, but also recommends the use of coconut oil in place of butter. Many years ago, I discovered the health benefits of coconut oil and often cook with it. The author explains why gluten-free flour is important and what changes have to be made to make the recipes you might normally make with wheat flour. I'm quite anxious to try some of the recipes she discusses, especially the gingerbread cookies and the snickerdoodles.

So my mouth started watering as I read the table of contents - a good sign, of course :).

More seriously, though - if you need (or simply prefer) to eat gluten free but love your sweet treats, this book is going to improve your life!

The author does a great job of explaining the various benefits of coconut flour and follows up with an impressive array of really yummy gluten-free recipes. Enjoy!

I'm amazed at the proliferation of new ingredients that are being brought to the market for the benefit of our health and to offer a greater set of dietary options for those who experience intolerance and allergies to typically used ingredients.

Coconut Flour Recipes is one cookbook that caught me completely off guard in a very pleasant manner. Little did I know that this product was available or that it could be used in baking to make such TASTY baked goods.

Sara Winlet has done an excellent job of sharing her own recipes for coconut flour with her readers. In this book she addresses the dessert, quick bread, cookie, cupcake, and cake recipes. In a companion to this, she shares more of the uses of coconut flour. WHO KNEW??

I loved the variety of recipes in this book. As the self-professed cookbook junkie, this is one that I'm glad I have in my virtual library and you'll enjoy it too. With the proliferation of food allergies and intolerances to gluten, this is a MUST HAVE for anyone who bakes for their kids and those whose dietary concerns are unknown. Better safe than sorry... and better tasty when safe. Get "Coconut Flour Recipes" and enjoy it. I did!!

As the author points out, coconut flour is gluten-free, high in fiber, and low on the glycemic index. It is much, much healthier to use it for baking rather than using flours from grains such as wheat, rye, or barley. This is a book of dessert recipes (rather than breads); its recipes are for cookies, muffins, and cakes. The author has a number of other cookbooks, and I'm confident that these recipes will produce at least very good desserts. Unfortunately, no food counts are provided, which prevents it in my mind from deserving a 5 star ranking. Nevertheless, using the recipes in this book to replace ones based on grain flours would be a significant improvement in the quality of the foods you eat.

I have had a hard time losing wieght. So I started a detox diet in which gluten was removed for three weeks. It changed my life. I bought this book after finding how much better I felt without gluten product in my meal plan. this book looked great and after making the coconut flour macaroons I tried the Healthy snickerdoodles both were wonderful but my fav was the blackberry banana muffins. Next on my list is the Classic Yellow Cake with Toasted Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting. If it's anywhere near as good as the first three reciepies I made I've died and gone to heaven. The best thing about these treats is that they're delicious and healthy too!
