Description du produit

Extrait

Levels of commitment change, sometimes on a daily basis, depending on the key variables that drive commitment. And here’s the exciting news: some of these variables you can control.

Revue de presse

"[Reeder's] book is delightfully practical as well as informative, packed with intelligence and clarity of both thought and expression. Learned, yet eminently accessible, it is a rare pleasure."
The Economist

“Commit to Win is at once readable and rich with ideas, both fun and important.  Heidi Reeder reveals the complexities and dispels the myths that surround commitment, and sketches a compelling framework that explains why committing is sometimes so difficult, and how to right the ship when commitment wanes.  Well worth reading if you’ve ever struggled to follow through on a plan that seemed important but somehow fell by the wayside.”
—Adam Alter, New York Times bestselling author of Drunk Tank Pink: And Other Unexpected Forces That Shape How We Think, Feel, and Behave

“This book sheds light on a crucial (but often overlooked) question: Why do some people persist with important goals while others do not? A must read for those interested in the science of achievement.”
—Cal Newport, author of So Good They Can't Ignore You

“What a useful and entertaining book! Heidi Reeder’s simple explanation of the 4-element formula for commitment can help you into--or out of--a commitment such as a relationship, a workout routine, a job, or a project. A valuable addition to the psychological literature.”
—Meg Selig, Licensed Professional Counselor, author of Changepower! 37 Secrets to Habit Change Success and the "Changepower" blog at psychologytoday.com.

“Commit to read this superb book, now!  Heidi Reeder will help you reach your goals.”
—Barbara Morgan, NASA Astronaut (ret.)

5.0 étoiles sur 5 The Commitment Equation - Power to change 17 juillet 2017
Par Scott Laverty - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Relié Achat vérifié
In this book, Heidi brings together multiple studies to support an equation for increasing or decreasing an individual's commitment. Furthermore, she includes clear points at the end of each chapter for change, and creates three chapters on application. A brilliant book for understanding commitment!

I'm about halfway through with this book and I am not impressed. I am an avid reader, but this book is a difficult read. I find myself skipping and skimming whole passages that I find drawn out and fairly useless.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Really loved this book 4 février 2017

Really loved this book. I have been a business and life coach for many years but learned so much from this read on how to increase your level of commitment to a goal. I had a little trouble connecting to the terms treasures for rewards/ benefits and troubles instead of challenges but other than that I gained so much. In fact, just this Saturday morning got a 5mi walk/run (over 10,000 steps) in and an hour of reading before noon (plus groceries, too). I now know how to help myself and others increase commitment when it makes sense to do so. Thanks, Dr Reeder!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Concise and informative 28 mai 2015

Dr. Reeder's book not only brings to light the fundamental aspects of commitment, she also provides a game plan for implementing them. Her book explains the four components of commitment and their associated myths. This book asks the reader to be honest with oneself and get to the core of what they do and do not value. She addresses not only how to be more committed, but also how to be less committed to things that no one longer hold priority and how to encourage others to be more committed. This book is beneficial beyond measure, entertaining to read, and we'll worth the time spent.
