I liked the book very much, as it delivers exactly what it promises. It clearly describes the complete wheatgrass story from historical, chemical, healing, business and practical usage viewpoints. The language is understandable, and it makes for an interesting and easy reading experience.
I like how upfront the author is about wheatgrass's biggest negative: the taste. And there are many suggestions for mixers and additives to combat that issue. The inclusion of the recipes is also helpful and practical. It has earned a space on my cookbook bookshelf.
The case studies at the end of chapters supplied a nice change of pace for the reader, and provided informative and touching real life evidence of the power of wheatgrass.
All in all it is a solid book with lots of info, a good read and a terrific guide. It is a modern day extension of wheatgrass pioneer Ann Wigmore's work.
Suggestion: This looks like it would make a great basis for a Dr. Oz show or Martha Stewart show episode. Just a thought!

Truly enjoyed reading the book. The writing style was crisp and entertaining. It is a very easy read. I appreciate learning the rich and varied history of wheatgrass. It gave me a better understanding of its mythos and classification as a 'superfood.'

I've been interested in the benefits of internal cleansing for a while. The book clearly identified the various the types of cleanses, their benefits, and how wheatgrass could be leverage to successful perform cleansing procedures. Just as important, it gave a fair assessment of the drawbacks and concerns in using wheatgrass.

I also enjoyed getting a brief primer on some of the other 'superfoods' ( ex: Acari berries, spinach, Chlorella). The author did an excellent job comparing and consrasting wheatgrass with the others in the 'superfood' family. After reading this book and clearly understanding beneficial properties, I have added wheatgrass to my dietary regiment. I highly recommend reading.

Anyone who is looking to make a substantial change in their diet and lifestyle will benefit from reading this book. Not only does it offer valuable information regarding the how-to of growing wheatgrass and exploring the business of selling wheatgrass, it gives a very thorough explanation of why wheatgrass is so beneficial. It explores the nutritional composition of wheatgrass in language that is easy for the layperson to understand. It explores a variety of conditions that may benefit from wheatgrass therapy and provides an assortment of recipes for juices and home remedies including creams and shampoos. This book offers several options for growing and discusses the pros and cons of each. What I appreciated about this book was it acknowledged the other side of many arguments regarding wheatgrass in a fair way, thus empowering the reader to make an informed decision regarding this subject. I also enjoyed getting a solid foundation on the various nutrients in wheatgrass and why they are important. I work in a health food store and am often asked about wheatgrass and other super foods. Reading this book helped me gain insight into the many benefits of whole foods and supplements which I will be now better able to pass on to my customers. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to educate themselves regarding whole foods and wheatgrass.

As I read this book the thought crossed my mind that if several ill relatives knew about this info that they might be encouraged to try wheatgrass. While the book portrays wheatgrass as a type of cure-all for nearly every ailment, if it even helps at a minimal level, it may well be worth a try.

The book begins with a history of wheatgrass. It has been around for centuries, since before the time that Jesus walked the earth. The book describes in detail the benefits of eating wheatgrass & drinking wheatgrass juice. Fresh cut wheatgrass used in smoothies, juiced, & as bath solutions, has many healing properties contained within. Part of it has to do with the chlorophyl & high oxygen content. The book provides information on experiments with wheatgrass, but also states that none of the results are scientifically acceptable.

The author references many case studies and data for evidence in her discussion of the benefits. If even less than half of the statements are true, this plant is quite beneficial to human health. For those dealing with major health issues, wheatgrass may have the potential to reduce cancer causing agents, provide toxin cleansing aspects, offer improvement of organ functions and increase red blood cell counts by using wheatgrass.

The book provides information on growing, buying & selling fresh & dried wheatgrass. There is a chapter on recipes with wheatgrass as an ingredient, demonstrating that it is possible to blend this in with meal preparation and possibly even juicing if you have a blender. There is a supplier list at the back of the book. The inference is that while this may not be a cure-all for all health problems, a lot of wheatgrass consumed daily by inclusion in food & drink preparation has a chance of improving health issues.

I was quite enthused by what I read in the book. While growing fresh wheatgrass may not be practical for everyone, frozen juice is easy enough to incorporate into a regular routine. Wheatgrass seems to resurface periodically as people search for healthier diets. As in the title, this book does provide a complete guide to wheatgrass.

To the publishing company, I do recommend cropping out the person in the photo on the back cover of the book. The person in the photo adds no credibility to the contents of the book and the photo is outdated.

Some of the information conflicts with other information given in the book. Most of it is basic nutrition information. And most of the information is from one or two sources. Mainly Ann Wigmore. Overall, its ok. A little disappointed though. I thought it was going to tell me something I didn't know.
