1.0 étoiles sur 5 Amazon readers paid the negotiated price for their versions - it is bad enough this is a half finished book and unusable ... 11 octobre 2014
Par Stuart Bell - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle
The Kindle version is not ready to be sold. It lacks a table of contents, and the Index, while written with bookmarks, is difficult to search. The books reads more as a bragging travel guide showing thumbnails of the author's previous trips rather than techniques that can be applied to the A6000.

In the Author's blog, he complains about the lower income he gets from Amazon and states he may not offer fixes to the Amazon purchasers for the problems caused by no page number, lack of chapter numbers, and references within the text that go no where.

Amazon readers paid the negotiated price for their versions - it is bad enough this is a half finished book and unusable as a general reference, but to find that help will come late, if ever, to the Amazon purchased versions seems unfair.

Maybe the description should read: "poorly finished with no page numbers, no way to navigate within a text that is filled with substantial unrelated bragging about the author's many trips that have the only purpose of making it hard to find the true gems embedded within the rubble."

2.0 étoiles sur 5 because this book appears to be chock full of useful, detailed 5 septembre 2014

Kindle version extremely frustrating to use. The text has constant references to items on "page x" or "chapter y," but there is no way navigate to these locations. There is no table of contents that allows you to hyperlink to a given chapter, much less page. And no overview of the contents that allows you go find a specific topic. This is very unfortunate, because this book appears to be chock full of useful, detailed, expert and otherwise undocumented information. But only by reading it line by line, and then tagging potentially useful sections (essentially creating your own index), will you ever be useful as a reference. I had hoped that the Kindle version would be a useful field guide, but if you can't find what you need to know, it's useless. If possible, I am going to return it for a refund (if a virtual book can be returned).

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Kindle version image issues 2 août 2014

The written content of this book seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. However, this is a photography book, so much of the value is in seeing example images which, in the kindle version, are quite useless. Even when viewed on a galaxy note 12.2 the images (of which there are a great number) appear almost as thumbnails. Zooming in on the images shows them to be very low resolution, making it impossible to see the point being demonstrated. Very disappointing really. Returned for a refund. If that works I think I'll order the paper edition.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 It's better than what's available... But not by much. 15 janvier 2015

The author claims on his own website that his books have "a half shelf life" and that's exactly how this book reads. The author, while very knowledgeable, tends to borrow from previous chapters he's written for other Sony camera products while providing information exclusive to the product on the front cover. If you've read any of the authors previous books on Sony, you will begin to see a repeating "drag and drop" theme that soon begins to feel as though the authors goal is to fill "White Space" while at the same time, release his material in a timely manner.

It's pretty clear that the author holds a lot of disdain for Amazon and their sales practices. Seeing it as the "necessary evil" in today's literary sales pipeline, That said, he needs to pay FULL attention to the Kindle market and address the absolutely HORRIBLE formatting issues plaguing this book. Before it is released. That, or give up that sales avenue. I can't use what I can't find...

He also needs to end the dreadful, shameless, self promotion he insists on inserting in the meat of the text. A lot. We get it. You're an entrepreneur. That's what your website is for... Either that or explain to all of us why it's acceptable to place a commercial right in the middle of our read. And why we should pay for the privilege.

In all, this book is a good adjunct to the sorely lacking product manual while at the same time, gets in the way of itself being a GREAT reference manual.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 THIS BOOK IS USELESS WITHOUT PAGE NUMBERS 29 novembre 2014

THIS IS A MANUAL AND A REFERENCE BOOK. THE AUTHOR REFERS TO PAGE NUMBERS AND CHAPTERS.
THIS KINDLE VERSION ONLY SHOWS TIME LEFT AND %. IS THERE SOMETHING I DON;T KNOW ABOUT.
THIS BOOK IS USELESS WITHOUT PAGE NUMBERS. A WASTE OF MONEY.
